I'm so sorry this is past the deadline, but I hope the length makes up for the wait :3

There's nothing quite like watching snow falling from the sky, coating the ground and its surroundings in a fresh layer of fluffy, white perfection. When one sits still and just watches, it almost looks like a painting – too beautiful to be real. It's one of the best parts of winter.
Or, at least, it usually is.
Until this year.
"This sucks," Sora grumbles, resembling a wounded puppy as he looks out the window at the snow-covered land just outside his window.
You hate to be pessimistic, but you kind of have to agree. Every year, your group of friends takes a long-awaited trip to a cabin tucked away in the woods and far away from the insanity of the city for a week just after Christmas. But this year, you've all been stuck indoors for five out of seven days in the cabin. A massive snowstorm hit, trapping you indoors and depriving you of the usual outdoor activities in which you usually partake.
"At least we brought snacks. And board games," Ven points out, glancing at the pile of food and cardboard boxes stacked on the dining table in the other room.
"Stop trying to be positive. There's no WiFi out here. I want to die," Reno snaps, physically in pain from the lack of internet.
Yuffie enthusiastically nods in agreement, causing you to stifle a giggle at the two. You've heard their complaints more than you'd like the past few days, but it's been entertaining watching them slowly descend into madness without Facebook and Snapchat.
"Well I think it's kind of fun," Zack speaks up, his arms resting behind his head as he leans back against his chair.
The smile is immediately wiped from your face as you stare up at him, soaking in the sight of his biceps peeking out of his short-sleeved shirt. The man is perfection, even more perfect than the sight of freshly fallen snow. You know you're pretty shamelessly staring at him, but thankfully he's too entranced by the snow outside to notice.
You've been friends with him for ages, as you have with everyone else in your group of friends, but he's different. Ever since middle school, you've been struck by just how beautiful he is, both inside and out. The adorable smile that grows on his face when he hears a good joke, the soft laughter that flows from his lips, the way his impossibly blue eyes light up as he's telling a story...
And being trapped in a cabin deep in the woods is only causing your long-held obsession to grow.
"Yeah, it has been nice spending so much time with each other," you agree, snapping yourself out of your dreams and back to reality.
Zack's gaze darts over to yours, his smile only growing once your eyes lock.
For a second, you wonder if you've died. It's like something out of those cheesy rom-coms you love to hate, just staring at the man who's absolutely stolen your heart without even trying as you sit on opposite sides of the room, as if no one else is around. Having to remind yourself to breathe and actually act like a normal human, you smile back and give him a nod of approval.
"We see each other every day," Axel points out with a knowing look towards you. "And now, I want my Netflix."
"However would you have survived in the 1800s, Axe?" you ask with a heavy sigh, though you let a smirk slip as he shoots you a glare.
