The day had started off normally, get up, eat breakfast, get ready for work. The one difference was that there was absolutely no snow... just three days before Christmas in a city that normally got a nice sheet of snow on Halloween. But nope... December 24th and there was still absolutely no snow. And the part that got me most about it is that it felt like there should be snow. Freezing cold.

I stepped out of the apartment after yelling a quick goodbye to my room mate. "Hey! I'm headed out to work. Got the late shift so I won't be back till late."

"Alright! Be safe! Bring me some goodies." His voice yelled with an excited pitch.

"I make no fucking promises ya mooch!" I yelled back and shut the door. Zack really could be just like a puppy at times. Especially when food came into the story. Stepping down the stairs of my apartment my phone dings at me. Quickly taking a look at the screen a smile graces my face.

Sir_Knight has sent you a message

'Going to work today?''Yeah just headed in, you?' I typed quickly. It wasn't to long ago that I started talking to the faceless person I know as Sir_Knight. We met on a gaming chat of one my favorite games and it just kicked off from there. We don't share personal information like names, addresses, or where we work, just more like talking about random things. I do know that this person has a sibling, graduated med school, and works in a hospital as an emergency doctor. And yet even though I don't know this persons name, I feel as though I've known him for a very long time.

Looking at my phone for a response I notice the time, "Shit! I'm gonna miss my bus."

"Hey _____, going to work? Need a lift?" a smooth voice jolted me out of my panic.

"Oh god yes please! Riku you are a fucking hero! Thank you so much." I smiled thankfully up at the tall silver haired man.

"What kind of best friend would I be if I couldn't drive you on a cold day huh?"

"Sure you don't just wanna see the hot dude behind the counter?" "What!? You mean Sora don't you... No you owe me a coffee." He smirked knowing I couldn't say no.

"Well then, what the hell are we waiting for?" And with that we get into his slick black Eclipse and head off to the hospital. Glancing at my phone again I notice a response.

'No I'm on call tonight. What kind of job do you have that makes you work Christmas Eve?'

'I work in a hospital like you do, except I work in the coffee shop. being in a big city where there is almost always an accident our coffee shop stays open to the customers and workers who need that extra push towards the end of their shift.'

"Is that mystery boy?" Riku smirked at me.

"Who says its a boy? Maybe it's just Yuffie or Reno trying to learn what I got them for Christmas?" "I don't think they would talk to you for a full year trying to figure out what the gift is... Nice try though."

"I don't know... Wouldn't put it past Yuffie to do something like that." We laughed knowing just how persistent the crazy Christmas goer could get.

"Touche. Thouche. She is kind of crazy."

"Buddy she's fucking nuts."

'Ah the life force of coffee. I find myself in our coffee shop a lot on the slow nights. Being able to have that as a crutch on the long days is indeed helpful.'

"Why don't you meet up with this person? You seem to really like them." Riku startled me again but this time with his question.

"I... I mean it's not like i haven't wanted to... I just feel like our relationship is fine the way it is. I mean I really don't think I need a boyfriend and this person is easy to talk to, what if when we meet it's all awkward? I don't want that."

"I couldn't do it. I'd want to meet the person. Especially if they made me smile the way this one does for you."

"Shut up."

"Fine. Just think about it. They may want to meet you. Anyways we are here." He smiled parking his car close to the visitor entrance. "You know what I like."

"Yup Chai tea ya wuss." I laughed walking into the hospital and into the coffee shop that's by the entrance. Our Christmas decorations hanging neatly above the sign sparkled with a sense of cheer. I stepped behind the counter and made his drink, sending him on his way after him and Sora had their weird bromance and parted.

Before putting my apron on I send Sir_Knight a message.

'Hey I'm clocking in so I might not be able to talk much, but maybe we could talk about meeting up soon? I feel like I'd really like to meet you in person...'

After hitting send I panicked. 'Ah. I mean it's up to you. Sorry to make this awkward.'

"Hey! Ready to be my Christmas eve buddie!?" a spiky haired guy jumped into my view. "Of course. How could I not Sora!"

The night went by uneventfully and it took all my strength not to check my phone every second of every minute. Luckily I had Sora to help keep me occupied with random shenanigans.

Close to the end of my shift at five am a regular at around this time came into the cafe.

"Good mourning Seifer. I thought you were off the next two days." Sora smiled cheerfully. To cheerfully for the time.

"Ah, got called in. Some kid crashed his sled into something. Luckily he only sprained his wrist from the way he caught himself."

"Ohhh sledding sounds so fun! ____ Can we go sledding tomorrow?!"

"Oh uh... Sure Sora." I smiled feeling half asleep. "Oh hey! Merry Christmas Sora, Seifer."

"Merry Christmas ____, we still walking to the party together?"

"Party?" Seifer pitched in.

"Yeah, Cloud and the gang always hold a party on Christmas day since not all of us can get home to our families."

"Huh didn't know they did that."

"You could always join us. I'm sure they wouln't mind." Sora invited him.

"Maybe, ____ can I borrow you for a minute?"

"Sure, Sora I'm gonna take a break."

"OK!"

I follow Seifer to a table towards the back of the cafe. "So what can I-"

"I know you're DarkEnchantress." His sudden knowledge of my user name makes me silent. I just stare up at him with wide eyes. "In fact I've known for a while... I'm Sir_Knight.""I-I, Y-you're... Oh thank fucking hell. How did I not catch that? Why the fuck didn't you tell me when you found out? This whole time I was worried you'd hate the way I look or laugh or something and this whole time I've known you."

He gave a loud chuckle. "Well that response shouldn't have surprised me. I guess I just felt like you would only see me as well, the Doctor who buys coffee from you."

"Oh no, I've always thought that the free coffee would have been a suggestion that I uh..." I froze realizing what I was about to say.

"Free coffee? And that you what?"

"That I um well you know... Oh fuck it!" I sighed tired of tripping on my own tongue, I leaned up and kissed the taller blonde man, watching his eyes go wide and then close as he wrapped his arms around my waist bringing me closer. Pulling apart with tented cheeks he smiles down at me. "I found my Enchantress." He kissed me this time. "Spend Christmas with me?"

"Okay. Go to the party with me?"

"For you I will."
