Alex's POV

"Maybe I should just call her." I reached for my phone but Maggie swatted my hand away.

"They are fine. Kara's attacks had stopped for two weeks when we left. Please don't cave only half a week into our honeymoon."

"Sorry, I just..." I sighed and looked down at the book I was reading. "I feel like something's wrong."

"Alex, she is fine." Maggie stood and grabbed my hand. "Want to go to the karaoke bar?"

"Now that I know what your voice sounds like, sure." I took her hand and we walked back up the beach, heading towards the bar that we had spotted on our drive into town.

"My nose is cold," Maggie said suddenly. I giggled.

"That's probably because you dragged us both out here to a beach where it was raining not two hours ago." I looked down at our feet, which were in perfect sync. "Although, it is nice to be here without everyone else for once. The partiers get annoying."

"Yeah, those kids that hit you with the frisbee yesterday are gonna get it soon."

"Calm down, Super-Maggie. You don't need to get that upset. Also, they didn't hit me, I caught it." I leant in while we started walking up the stairs and off the beach.

"Barely."

Maggie's POV

I was standing at the bar when Alex's loud voice boomed over the microphone.

"Maggie Sawyer... wait, not anymore ... Maggie Danvers!" I turned and saw a very drunk Alex on the stage with a microphone and yet another beer. "Come up here! Sing with me!"

"Alex, just go solo for a while." I was tired and wanted to go home about an hour ago but Alex insisted on staying. All I have ever wanted is to please and protect that woman and it seemed lately that I have been doing both quite well. I may as well have fun too.

"Maggie! Stage! Now!" I slowly walked up there and took the beer from Alex's hand before putting on a song. "Oh, no, not this song." She whined.

"What? It sums up our relationship perfectly." I defended, grabbing a microphone.

"Maggie, I don't know Spanish!"

"I will have to teach you someday and I'll do any Spanish parts, apart from the chorus, you have to know that." I smiled and sang. "She's playing dumb all the time just to keep it fun." I started and she sang the rest with me.

Back home the next morning, Alex was in bed and I was making breakfast. I thought that I could start teaching her Spanish like I said last night, even though she won't remember much from that bar.

I grabbed the cooked eggs and bacon, attaching sticky notes with the words 'huevo' and 'bacon' to the plate next to each. The door behind me opened when I put our food on the table.

"Cara De dormida," I said, smiling at her. The confused look on her face told me that I had successfully surprised the eldest Danvers and I had to say, it was a good feeling.

"What are you on about?"

"I said, 'Morning sleepyhead' in Spanish." I sat down at the table and motioned for her to sit down too. She raised her eyebrows when she saw the plate.

"Oh Rao, you aren't actually teaching me Spanish, are you?"

"I feel like I have to live up to my promise last night."

"Don't remind me of last night!" She put her head in her hands and sighed

"Oh, come on! Singing Loca from Shakira is so much fun."

"You have a point but still."

"If you can sing the fast parts and I can sing the Spanish, it's a perfect song for us." She rolled her eyes and started eating. I smiled at her and ate the last few mouthfuls of my plate. "First lesson. Name. Say Me llamo Alex."

"Let me guess, it means 'My name is Alex'?"

"Yeah, kind of."

"Okay. What was it? Mi llammoo Alex."

"Hey, don't insult me." I grabbed my phone out of my pocket but hers fell out too. She furrowed her brow and frowned. "You aren't calling them. Alex, you have been so good lately!"

"I just need to know that she is okay!" I watched her grab out her phone and jump up to stop me from stopping her. She paced while she dialled a number and spoke on the phone. "Hey, Lena. Where's Kara?" After about a minute, she stopped and stayed still. Her eyes widened and tears fell down her face. I ran to her and grabbed the phone out of her hand.

"Lena? What happened?" I demanded, hoping that Alex was just over-reacting and that all was fine.

"She had another attack and it lasted a few days. I called Mon-El to help and he came over to comfort her but he had to go last night. She came out of it this morning but she's not the same. She's... cold. Similar to what she was like after Alex died."

"We will be on the next flight." I grabbed Alex's hand, ushering us out the door. I had grabbed all of the essentials, leaving clothes and big items here. We are coming back so I thought we only needed stuff for a few days. Alex was quiet in the car, silently sobbing. "Alex, I'm so sorry."

"It wasn't your fault that she had the attack."

"But it's my fault we didn't know about it sooner. I'm so sorry that I stopped you from calling Kara."

"Don't be. At least now when we get there, I don't have to see her... like that... again." I pulled up at the Guatemala airport and got out of the car. I didn't care about putting the hire car back, we needed to get home, now!

"Mrs Danvers, nice to see you again." The lady at the front desk said to me. Alex stood quietly behind me with a determined look on her face. I grabbed her hand for comfort.

"We need the next available flight back into National City." I replied, still holding my wife's hand.

"None going to National City within the next two days..." she said, looking at her computer. I groaned.

"What's the best you can get us?"

"There are two flights going into towns near National City though. Each has only one seat left."

"Alex, baby, are you alright to go on your own? If we go separately, we can get to Kara quicker." She just nodded and I gave the lady my card to pay for the tickets.

"I assume this is an emergency?" I nodded and she gave me back my card. "This is on me. After you guys helped me get my job back earlier this week, I will pay for your flights." She gave us each a ticket. Mine said San Diego and Alex's said Midvale.

I was shaking throughout the whole flight. I worried about Alex. I worried about Kara. I worried about this whole situation. My wife's sister was having severe panic attacks and what did I do? I stopped said wife from calling her sister.

None of us knew how the panic attacks started, nor did we know what went on inside her head during them. Whenever one of us would ask what happened, she would just sit there silently until the subject was changed. Luckily, they stopped for a while and so Alex had planned our honeymoon around that. She had only just relaxed last night, how dare life do this?

We were told that we would be 'landing shortly' so I got ready to run straight out the door and get to National City as soon as possible. About an hour later, the pilot said something about an emergency landing to pick up more fuel. After another hour, the turbulence got intense and everything went black when we crash landed in the middle of nowhere.
