Chapter Ten

- Alessandra -

"Steph, Sam, Alessandra, Joe... we have something to tell you", my mother says. I knew it.

We all stared at her until she said something else. "I can see that all four of you don't like living here. I can see it in all of your faces and since Stephanie and Samantha are older than 18, they are legal to live by themselves. I have decided to let you guys move back to Texas..", she looks over to me and my brother. "You guys will be going to your old schools and the girls will be transferring to their old college."

We all look at each other shocked by what we just heard. On the inside I'm very excited but I don't want to show it to make my mom feel bad.

It's silent in the room and we all just sit there thinking until I broke the silence, "When are we leaving? And wait what house are we moving into?"

My mom looked at me and said, "Tomorrow and your fathers old house was never sold. You will be moving back there. Dad paid off the house so there's no mortgage and you guys will be living there for free."

"What about the bills? And food? We can't all pay for that ourselves", Stephanie says.

"We will be paying for it", my grandfather says smiling. I can tell he's happy that we're happy.

This is the best news ever. I get to move back and go to school with my old friends. I get to spend my senior year where I love. And also I get to be with Austin again. Back at home there is only a week and a half until the last day of school so I plan on going back to school to surprise everyone.

After dinner we all went to our room. I heard my sisters talking about something but I couldn't hear what they were saying. I tried listening into the conversation but I still couldn't hear it over the Xbox game my brother was playing. I personally think that it's a bad idea for him to play games with guns and deaths since he's only 11 but I don't have a say in that. My eyes start to close and all of a sudden I fall asleep.

Today's the day. The day we move back to Texas. I can't wait to leave here because all I want to do is to see Austin.

We have to be at the airport in an hour so that gives me time to pack and to get ready. After I'm done with everything, we say goodbye to my mother and grandparents. I have no idea when I'll see them next but I will make sure to call them everyday. We all got into the cab that they called to drive us to the airport.

When we got there, we were starving so we went to a small little diner in the airport. I ordered pancakes which is my favorite breakfast food. My brother ordered waffles and my sisters both ordered egg omelets. It was sooooo good.

We went to our gate to wait to board. We heard our section being called and we boarded the plane. I was holding my brothers hand since he has a fear of planes. This should be a fun flight.

During the departure leaving NC and the arrival of the plane to Texas, my brother was hyperventilating and screaming which probably disturbed the whole plane. I felt bad for the people and I was embarrassed.

When we were walking off the plane and my brother was calm, all I could think about is Austin. I can't wait to see him. After we get situated and all of the furniture gets delivered and set up, I plan on going to Austin's house to surprise him. I don't know how that's going to turn out but we will see.

I found my old car in the driveway which wasn't used in months so I'm scared that it won't work. I turn the keys into the ignition and it turns on. Thank god. I pull out of the driveway and go on my way to Austin's house.

When I got there, I see his Range Rover in the driveway. Phew, he's home. I park my car and start to head up the stairs to knock on the door.

- Austin -

I hear knocks on the door. I wonder who this could be, I thought to myself.

I go downstairs and open the door. I see a familiar face I haven't seen in months. Alessandra. I look at her confused at the sight of her being here. Why is she here? I thought she wasn't coming back.

"Hey", she says in her calm voice that used to drive me crazy.

"Alessandra? Why are you here?"

All of a sudden her smile started to fade. "What? You're not happy to see me? Why haven't you texted me back? Or even call me? I just don't understa-", she starts to say but then stops while tears roll down her face. I choose not to wipe the tears off so I don't make her angrier than she already is.

She starts to speak again, "Have you moved on already? I mean, have you found another girl?" She looks up at me waiting for a response.

I don't know what to say. I don't want to tell her to hurt her but I want to tell her the truth. Do it Austin. Just tell her.

"I-I, yeah I have. Ever since you left I haven't been myself and I wanted to find someone else to keep me distracted" I look down at her and I see her covering her face. I hear her sobbing. Why did I do this to her? I literally just broke her heart.

After minutes of just standing there watching her, she looks up at me again. "Who is it?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. Don't try to act stupid. Who is your new girlfriend?"

"Her name is Jenna."

"Oh a slutty cheerleader, huh? You're now going to parties and now you're into sluts. You've changed a lot."

I just look down at her not knowing what to say. I don't want to hurt her. I notice that she was dressed up, probably just to surprise me. I feel terrible. I should've never moved on. I don't even have the same feelings for Jenna that I do for Alessandra. I have to break up with Jenna. I want Alessandra back.

"I'm just going to go since you don't care about me or what you did", she says as she turns around and walks down the stairs. It was so hard for me not to run after her and kiss her but that would've made things worse. I need to break up with Jenna first.

When Alessandra drove away, I went back into my room and I was so angry at myself that I punched a hole in the wall. What's gotten into me?
