"I Dawn, do solemnly swear to uphold all laws and traditions sanctioned by the Scarlet Fire pack as Member and Luna as have all my predecessors before me. I swear to be a just, honest and kind Luna. I swear to lay down my life for my pack and its members if the day arises and do so without hesitation if no other option is present. I swear to care for the members of my pack like family and help anyone in need. This I vow, and should I fail to perform any of my duties as Luna, I understand that my position will be taken and given to another more worthy."
I looked to my left and saw Levi smile brightly at me. I gave a small smile and turned back to the hundreds of smiling faces of my new pack. I walked towards the white rose sitting on the table to my right and grabbed the small delicate knife placed beside it. I took my index finger and slid the knife across it. I let my blood drip onto the rose and immediately it turned the entire rose red. Suddenly, my dress shot up in flames, but it didn't hurt.
I could hear the cheers and whooping from the crowd as a gentle hand rested on my shoulder. I freaked out when my dress blew up and closed my eyes and kept them shut.
"You can open your eyes now, Luna." Levi's soothing voice came from beside me, and cautiously, I opened my eyes to see my formerly red dress now completely white. It was gorgeous.
"Long live Luna Dawn!!!!"
"Long live our Luna!!"
"Long Live Alpha Levi and Luna Dawn!"
The entire crowd was ecstatic. They were so happy! My family and Alpha Gabriel were standing at the front of the gathering along with my friends from school. Everyone looked so proud, my mom was crying, my Father was beaming from ear to ear. Alpha Gabriel gave me a thumbs up, and I giggled.
Magdalene and Marcus were both smiling pleasantly and clapping respectfully, while Lillian was crying fiercely, her mascara running down her face almost cartoon like and Derek was bashfully smiling while trying to calm a hysterical Lillian. Jacob and his mate were both there as well.
Levi took my waist and led me down into the crowd, I greeted my new pack and shared in their joy. Children were running around and playing tag, the teenagers were all hanging out with each other by the corner of the gathering. I made my way over and said hello, they asked me if I really went to a human school part time and I said yes. They thought it was pretty cool.
As I was walking back towards Levi, a young girl maybe 5 or 6 ran up to me and tagged my calf.
"Tag! You're it!"
"Oh is that how its going to be?" I grinned and chased after her. The other small children ran away too, their giggles and playful screams creating a beautiful chorus of joy. The pack members at first seemed surprised, but later found it amusing and some said it was heartwarming.
But seriously, imagine that scene. The brand new Luna of an incredibly well known and powerful pack wearing a huge elegant ball gown chasing young children around playing tag. No wonder they were surprised.
I finally caught up to a little boy and lightly tapped him,
"You're it!" As I turned to pick up my dress and walk away, he quickly tapped me back.
"Now you're it again!" Before he could get away, I tapped him again.
"You're it again!" Then he tapped back.
"You're it!" Then I tapped back.
"You're it!" I ran away so quickly I ran into someone hard.
"I am so terribly sorry!" I quickly apologized.
"Its okay." I remember that voice.
"Father, I'm so sorry! There was a little boy and he kept tagging me back and when I finally managed to get away I wasn't looking where I was going." I laughed as I retold the story.
"I am so proud of you." He smiled at me with tears collecting in his kind eyes.
"I know you are going to be the greatest Luna this pack has ever seen. We never knew you were destined for this kind of calling, but we know that everything you have done so far has led up to this moment, and your mother and I are so proud of you."
"We really are. We could have never asked for a better daughter, we are truly blessed to have you in our lives, and now we know this whole pack will be blessed to have you." My mother and brother both joined my Father.
"We're gonna miss you sis. Promise you'll send us postcards on holidays?" Carson teased and gave me a nudge with his elbow.
"Haha very funny. Thank you guys so much, I really mean it. I'm so thankful you have given me so much support and love. I'm going to miss you all so very much." And then the waterworks began. I couldn't stop as I help my family tight. I was really going to miss them so much. Our packs really aren't very far away, but it's still going to be hard.
"All right, your friends want to say goodbye too, we'll see you in a little." My family walked back to talk to Alpha Gabriel, and my friends came over.
"OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!!!" Lillian came bounding over and almost koala leaped on me, nearly sending me to the ground.
"OH MY GOD MY BACK!" Lillian I'm going to miss you too, but I promise you, you'll miss me more if you break my back and kill me."
"Sorry, I'm just going to miss all the fun memories we've had together in the pack. We all grew up together," She motions to my friends all gathered around me and they all look at me with loving and slightly somber smiles.
"I'm going to miss you guys too, but we'll still see each other at school! I'll come visit all the time, and you are all always welcome here." I grabbed them all in a big warm group hug and cried with them. Even though I am so happy to be with my mate and my new pack, its so hard to say goodbye to all my old pack members and memories.
"I love you guys."
"We love you too."
"Promise you won't forget all the good times we've had and will continue to have?"
"We promise."

"Goodbye!! We'll miss you!!" My mother waved back to me as the big black SUV drove away into the forest, two more SUVs followed after it, my friends in the second car stuck their heads out of the window and kept shouting how much they loved me and were going to miss me, and how if Levi made me cry they'd kill him.
"I love you too! Goodbye! See you at school!" I waved back as light tears fell from my eyes. I will see them again. Soon the small caravan had disappeared into the forest, and Levi took my hand in his and led me back towards the Pack house.
"Now that the ceremony is over, it's time for the real fun to begin." Levi took me in his arms bridal style and walked me into the pack house where the entire pack was waiting, cheering and whooping. A large array of food and drink was on display over all the tables in the dining hall.
Levi set me back down on the ground and announced to the gathering.
"Let the feast begin!!!!"

"Yes, let the feasting begin. Just you wait. Very soon, your cheers will turn to cries. Your joy will become your sorrow. Your new beloved Luna, will be your downfall. But keep cheering for now, revel in the good now, for all that awaits your future is pain and heartache now, Scarlet Fire."
