"Jameson just walked in with the permits." Nathan said into the phone, "Looks like i'll be taking that Malaysia job after all." Nate said his goodbyes to his wife before hanging up the phone.

Sam leaned over the railing looking over the marine, taking a puff from his cigarette.

Nathan made his way next to his brother and looked over at him. "You know, there is one other person who could help us," Nate began

"Not this shit again. Nathan, I told you. I don't trust..." Sam began as he walked away from the railing.

"Sam...," Nate cut him off, "You know we need her,"

Sam sighed softly and looked down. "I can't bring her into this," He whispered.

"Adalyn deserves to know that you're alive, Sam." Nathan pointed out, "She has never been the same since that day. After we got out of that prison, she didn't say a word for weeks. I had to nurse her back to health. It took her a year to get anywhere close to normal. She would have sold her soul to get you back, if she could."

"Do you think she'll forgive me?" Sam asked as tears filled his eyes.

"Sam...You did nothing wrong." Nate reassured his big brother.

"She may not see it that way." Sam countered.

"We have to try," Nate began. "I'm sure that when we tell her the situation she'll say yes,"

Sam sighed, subconsciously rubbing the tattoo that ran up his neck. "Ok. So what's the plan?"

Adalyn's POV

Adalyn gives her face one last wipe before tossing her napkin onto her plate. She picked up the tray, full of dirty dishes, walked over to her door and placed it outside for a housekeeper to discard. She then walked over to the plush king bed and plopped down, turning on the TV, putting Sam's jacket back on. An hour or so passed before her phone on the nightstand started to ring. She picked it up, looking at the screen seeing Nate's name. She pressed the green answer button and brought it to her ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey! Elena said you're not at the house." Nate began, "Everything ok?"

She just could not stay in that house anymore. It wasn't Elena or Nate's fault, that nightmare just felt too real. She made my way to the bed that sat in the middle of the room and sat at the edge. She leaned forward and healed her head in her hands as the image of Sam popped in her head again. She began pulling at her hair and the whole world went silent as the sound of gunfire, and sirens filled her head. There is nothing that could get that moment out of  her brain, and sooner or later, it would drive her insane.

"Adalyn? Are you still there?"

The sound of Nate's voice snapped her back into reality "Yeah. I'm fine. Something came up and I will have to cut my visit a little short. I'm sorry." Adalyn replied. She hated lying to Nate but she didn't want to worry him.

"No. Please don't leave yet." Nate begged. "We...still have so much to catch up on." The tone of his voice broke Adalyn's heart.

"I wouldn't leave if it weren't important, Nate." Adalyn sighed as she rubbed her face.

"Well, at least let me stop by and say goodbye before you go?" Nate negotiated with desperation in his voice.

"I would love that, Nate," Adalyn smiled. She gave him the name of the hotel and what room she was staying in.

"I will be there in a couple of minutes." Nate stated softly. And then the line went dead.
