Adalyn's eyes fluttered open, her vision going in and out of focus. Once her vision calmed down she realized she was still in Sully's plane. A folded up jacket lay under her head and another was draped over her body. She stirred slightly and moved to sit up, her torso screaming In protest.

    "Hey hey. Take it easy."

Adalyn's eyes darted to the source of the voice. Sam. His hand placed on her shoulder, helping her lean against the wall of the plane. "Everything is going to be ok. You're ok." He looked over his shoulder and called for Nathan.

Soon enough the younger Drake brother was also at my side. "Thank God you're awake..." He whispered.

Adalyn felt lightheaded, pain still ripped through her torso. "How long have I been out?" Adalyn groaned.

"An hour." Sam informed, his voice barely a whisper.

Adalyn let out a small sigh and leaned her head back against the wall.

"We were just discussing our next move..." Nate stated as he looked at his brother. "Come up when you're ready." He gave his brother a pat on the shoulder before looking at his friend. "And you rest. We need you." He smiled slightly before making his way back to the front of the plane.

Sam never took his eyes off of Adalyn. He looked as if he was scared that if he left her side, she'd slip away. "You really gave us a scare..." Sam trembled, his hand gripping hers almost like a lifeline.

Adalyn smiled slightly and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "I think we've established it takes more than a bullet to kill one of us." She chuckled. Every single person in that plane had been shot and survived. Granted, when Sully was shot, the bullet never actually pierced his body. But even so. The point still stood.

Sam let out a sharp breath and nods slightly. "Still...I thought that we-" He cut himself off, "-that I lost you."

Adalyn smiled sadly and placed a hand on his cheek. "I'm still here. And I'm not going anywhere."

Sam gently placed his hand on hers and gave her a curt nod.

Adalyn smiled and began removing the jacket from her lap.

"What are you doing?" Sam questioned frantically.

"Nate wants to discuss what's next. Help me up." Adalyn requested, holding her arm up for him.

"No. you need to..." Sam began but was cut off when he saw the look Adalyn was giving him. He let out a sigh and moved to help her, "Goddamn stubborn..." he muttered under his breath.

"Takes one to know one, Drake." Adalyn chuckled. She draped her arm around his shoulder and Sam gently lifted her up. She stood on her feet and brought her hand down to grab his arm.

"Are you ok?" Sam inquired, looking over at her to make sure she was in as little pain as possible.

Adalyn looked at Sam for a moment before nodding, a small smile forming on her face. "I'll be fine."

"Just take it slow, ok? We don't need you opening up your stitches." Sam ordered, giving her a stern look.

Adalyn smiled and gave him a reassuring nod. "I promise. Just don't go too far."

Sam gave her a very small smile and nodded slightly. "That I can do." He draped his arm around her shoulder and held her tightly enough to help keep her balance. "Are you able to walk?" Sam questioned.

She nodded slightly, as she snaked her hand around his back, her other hand place gently on her bandages.

Sam gave her a smile. "That's my girl." Sam mumbled. The two of them slowly made their way to the front of the plane, where Sully and Nate were talking

Nate looked up from the coin in his hand and his eyes widened slightly. "Adalyn! You shouldn't be up."

Adalyn shook her head. "I'm fine..." Adalyn reassured as Sam slowly lowered Adalyn into a seat just outside the cockpit.

"It's good to see you up and about, kid." Sully smiled as he looked at Adalyn over his shoulder.

"Good to see you too, old man." Adalyn teased. "Now. What's next?"

Avery was recruiting. Of course. It all makes sense now. The multiple Saint Dismas Crosses, the weird trials...

"Oh, so we all passed huh? Congrats, guys. We get eye patches and parrots now." Sam stated sarcastically.

"I don't get it. Why the hell would they go to all that bother just to weed people out?" Victor questioned.

"To protect himself, the most wanted man in the world at that time." Nate replied.

"He had to enlist people that he could trust in order to keep their treasure secret." I finished. Nate nodded a proud smile spreading on his face.

"What do you mean, their treasure?" Sam looked between Nate and I, his brows furrowed.

"Just think about this. Thomas Tew was a successful pirate in his own right. What could he possibly stand to gain from joining Avery?" Nate inquired looking at the rest of the group.

"Maybe Avery sent out crosses only to the other wealthy pirates like himself? What if they pooled and hid all their treasure together?" Adalyn finished his thought a smile gracing her lips.

"That would make the gunsway haul look like chump change." Sam chimed in, nodding slightly.

"Ho ho, holy shit." Sully smirked, shaking his head in disbelief. "So where exactly in Madagascar are we going?"

"Kings Bay." Adalyn and Nate informed simultaneously.

"It was an old pirate haven back in Avery's time." Nathan explained.

"I know it well, it's a big place. Anything more specific?" Sully asked.

"Well that map chamber was completely caved in, so you know..." Sam began but trailed off as he realized his brother was chuckling softly. "What are you laughing about?"

"The people who survived the caves...the recruits," Nate spoke as he looked back at Sam and Adalyn. "What's the one thing they would've left with?" He inquired before flipping the coin to his older brother.

Sam held the coin in his hand, inspecting it. "There is a volcano on this." He informed before handing it over to Adalyn.

"And there's a volcano near Kings Bay." Sully chimed looking at the other three. "But first we need you to rest up." He ordered looking back at Adalyn.

"We can't wait on me, guys." Adalyn sighed as she looked at the others. Disappointment filling her heart.

"Don't worry, darlin'," Sam mumbled as he placed his hand on her knee, as if he sensed what she was feeling. "We aren't doing this without you."
