Over the next couple of weeks, I learned to trust him and soon those weeks turned into months. I had to say, having a partner wasn't all that bad, but of course, I would never admit that to Mike or Derek. Soon enough, we reached a case that was unlike the others. It required us to travel to out to Cuba. As soon as it was assigned to us, Derek started complaining,

"Why do we have to go, isn't there already a team based in the area?"

"Quit your whining Derek and go do the damn job." Mike ordered,

"It's just that...well...but like..." he trailed off,

"Don't tell me you have some type of phobia," he looked down embarrassed, "oh my gosh you do! You're scared of flying." I started to laugh. The fearless, full of attitude Derek feared something. He tried to explain himself but I was too busy laughing to hear him out.

When the time camearound, we got on the plane and headed towards the island with a terrified Derekon board. Two hours in, I looked over the case file to refresh my memory, itwas the boss of a rival gang to one of our clients. He was known by the name LaSombra, or the Shadow, due to only making appearances at night. I finished upjust as we were landing. Once we made it to a little bed and breakfast, we hadjust enough time to rest and prepare for the task ahead of us.
