Chapter 41

It's almost been a week since Christmas which means today we're the 31st of December. In a couple of hours I'll be 18! So will Aiden of course. I'm wearing my blue princess dress that I ordered at Maddie's. It might not be my birthday yet but we're celebrating it here so Lucas told me to wear it.

"What are you thinking off, princess?" Lucas asks kissing my cheek with his arms wrapped around my waist. I faintly see a camera flash as he does so. I look up to see Tasha with her camera in hand.

Wait a sec! That's not her camera it's my Polaroid. I inspect it to make sure it's mine but I can clearly see my initials on it. Tasha catches my eye and she gives me a big smile.

"Yes, it is yours but tonight I'll be taking the pictures with it because it's not only New Years Eve but you're turning 18 as well!"

"But what about pictures of you and Aiden?" I ask her not wanting her to miss out on something because of taking pictures.

"Don't worry about it, the girls and I are going to alternate turns."

"Okay, just take care of it. I like the camera a lot." She chuckles at my request but nods her head anyways before walking away.

"Now that my sister is gone, I'll repeat my question. What are you thinking off, princess?" Lucas asks me again.

"Nothing specific except that I'll be 18 soon."

"What time were you born again?"

"2 am. Why?"

"So I can be the first to actually wish you a happy birthday at the time you were born and are officially turning 18." He tells me with his arms still around me as we're still just standing there.

"I've never celebrated my birthday on a gang's party before." I tell Lucas referring to the party we're at. Just like at the 24th Steven organised a party to celebrate New Year except this one isn't mandatory.

However since Steven announced it would be Aiden and my birthday party as well after the New Year starts a lot of the members came. Although I don't know everyone yet, I've met most of them and got to know them some more over the past couple of days.

"You'll be blown away by it. Let's just start with dinner for now." Lucas tells me letting go of my waist to take my hand and leads me to dinning hall. I expect to find my name next to Tasha again but I'm pleasantly surprised when I see that Steven switched Aiden and my position so we can sit next to our partner.

It's kind of funny that I'm the only girl at the guys side and Aiden the only guy on the girls side. Steven takes his place at the head of the table again and ticks on his glass gathering everyone's attention for his speech.

"Good evening everyone. Dinner is being served a bit later than on Christmas since our dessert will only be served after midnight. After midnight we'll not only celebrate the new year but two birthdays as well so save your energy for later. Enjoy the meal and your evening and thank you for coming!" With those words the first course arrives as well as the start of the first chatter of the eve.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one! Happy New Year!" Everyone shouts.

"Happy New Year, princess." Lucas tells me after the most breathtaking kiss I've ever had. I mean that quite literally too. Lucas insisted on being my last kiss of last year and my first kiss of this year (cliche, I know) so he started to kiss me as everyone started to count down from ten.

Together we go around giving everyone three kisses wishing them a happy New Year. When we're finally done over 45 minutes passed. I guess there are a lot more people here than I noticed. It might also have been the fact that some people wanted to chat a bit as well.
