Chapter 37

"She fell asleep again?" I hear a male voice ask as I'm being carried.

"Yeah about 20 minutes ago." Lucas responds. I know it's Lucas because I would recognise his voice anywhere and I hear him talk the clearest because he's carrying me.

"That's typical Emma, 100% awake and jumping around and the next she's deep asleep." The first voice answers as I hear a door close behind me. Lucas walks a bit longer and then sits down with me sprawled on top of him.

"So, how did- I wasn't expecting to see this. Is she hurt or just asleep?" A new male voice says to which I snuggle my head closer in the crook of Lucas neck and let out a content sigh.

"She's asleep. And really dad, do you think that if she was hurt I would just calmly sit here with her like this?" Lucas answers to the question Steven apparently asked.

"I guess not. Now back to my first question; how did the mission go?" Steven asks. I hear some murmuring but nothing understandable. I guess Steven didn't get any of it either because he asks Damon to explain how everything went down.

"The plan went perfectly. Emma and Lucas had their fight and Gomez was amused by it. As soon as Lucas left he approached Emma who's an excellent actress BTW. She disarmed him and shot him in the leg when he tried to come closer. John and Jamie held Gomez by the arm as Alex hit him a few times. Then Aiden and Lucas did the hard part and we threw him out of the hummer at their hang out place." Damon concludes.

"Excellent! I can see that you're all tired so just go upstairs and sleep in one of the guest rooms. The girls have been waiting for you guys to get back anyway so you'll find them up there somewhere. Lucas your room is still ready." Steven informs everyone.

I feel Lucas give a nod before he stands up, picking me up along with him. I would offer to walk upstairs myself but I'm still half asleep and I'm too tired to move a lot. Besides Lucas is just too comfortable.

I feel Lucas shift me a bit as he stops walking. He then opens a door and walks us inside. He places me gently down on the bed before trying to walk away but I hold on.

"Don't go." I mumble sleepily opening my eyes a bit to look at him. He lets out a chuckle before kissing my forehead.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm just going to close the door and change." Lucas says walking over to the door and closing it. He then walks over to a closet and takes out a shirt and a pair of sweatpants.

Lucas quickly changes in the sweatpants but doesn't pull on the shirt. He only walks over to me with the shirt in his hands. As he gives it to me my tired mind registers that it's for me.

"Thanks. Help me?" I ask too tired to move. He chuckles again before unzipping my dress and pulling it down. He places the shirt over my head and I stick my hands in it. He takes off my bra under the shirt before placing my clothes away and lying down.

I immediately move so I'm laying with my head on his chest. He wraps his arms around me holding me close to him. I just love his arms around me like this. It makes me feel safe.

"Goodnight, princess." He says kissing my head.

"Night, baby." I whisper back before closing my eyes again going back to sleep.

I wake up to a lot of loud noises. It sounds as if things are falling or being thrown around or something. I sit straight up and notices that Lucas' still asleep. I contemplate if I should wake him or should just go check what's wrong.

I look at him and see how peaceful and cute he looks deciding that I should let him sleep. I quietly walk over to the door and open it. I take a quick peek at Lucas before stepping out of the room.
