Lara's POV
2 months later.
So we're to months later and everyone is really happy. Tay and Lynn have become pretty good friends. The only thing that's kind of bothering me is that I haven't seen my adoption parents and Sam, my sister in a really long time. I let Sam know a couple of months ago that I was still alive and I had told her everything that happened. She told my parents and they didn't care if I fell in love with a criminal or ex criminal now but that they were happy that I was happy.
"Hey, Lynn? Do you maybe wanna meet my parents tonight? They want me to come over for diner 'cause it's been a long time and they asked if you would come too." I asked Lynn who was focused on her sketchbook. She was being artistic like always. She looked up and met my gaze.
"If you are okay with that, I'm too." she said, turning her attention back to her sketchbook.
I chuckled and called my parents.
"Hey mom. Lynn is coming with me tonight. I hope that's still okay."
"Yeah, sure honey. She's always welcome here. From what you've told me I can tell she's a really nice girl. Your father and I would love to meet her."
"Okay mom. I'll see you tonight. Bye!"
"Bye honey."
I ended the call and walked to the desk Lyndsey was sitting on. She was still focused. Her tongue was sticking out of her mouth a little and her nose twitched. Omg! That twitch gets me every time. I wrap my arms around her shoulders and she flinches.
"You scared me babe." she said, blushing slightly. She had her hand on her heart.
I chuckled, and placed a kiss on her cheek."So are you going to start making music and form a band with the guys or what?" I asked, very curious.
Lynn turned her chair around and pulled me on her lap. "We kind of already did that." she answered, smirking.
"What? When? How did you do that without me noticing?"
"I've been writing songs and the guys have been putting together some tunes." she said, turning the page of her sketchbook to reveal a who page scribbled full of lyrics. One caught my attention.
I'm not ready to say goodnight.
"When I was still robbing people and I hadn't met you, I was already writing some songs. Actually enough for a whole album." she turned the page again and again and again. On all of them were lyrics that belonged to different songs. "Some of these I wrote recently though."
Smoke
St. Patrick
My house
Holy
White noise
Fire
Eyelids
Mirrors
Ghosts
Let them in
You and I
EmptyIf the titles were already beautiful what would the songs themselves be?
"Can you play one for me?" I asked, looking at the lyrics.
"Which one?" Lynn asked.
"I don't know. You can choose."
I stood up from her lap and sat in the floor in front of the desk. She grabbed her guitar and started playing. The moment I heard her voice I was overwhelmed by the angelic sound.
I know it's warmer where you are
And it's safer by your side
But right now I can't be what you want
Just give it timeAnd if you and I
Can make it through the night
And if you and I
Can keep our love alive, we'll findWe can meet in the middle
Bodies and souls collide
Dance in the moonlight
When all the stars align
For you and I, for you and I, ohI know it's cold when we're apart
And I hate to feel this die
But you can't give me what I want
Just give it timeAnd if you and I
Can make it through the night
And if you and I
Can keep our love alive, we'll findWe can meet in the middle
Bodies and souls collide
Dance in the moonlight
When all the stars align
For you and I, for you and I, ohBut for now we stay so far
'Til our lonely limbs collide
I can't keep you in these arms
So I keep you in my mindBut for now we stay so far
'Til our lonely limbs collide
I can't keep you in these arms
So I keep you in my mind(Reaching out, can't feel you now)
Can we meet in the middle?
Bodies and souls collide
Dance in the moonlight
When all the stars align
For you and I, for you and I, ohShe finished the song and put the guitar down.
"Lynn, that was so beautiful." I said, tears filling my eyes. She stood up and oulled me into a hug.
"It's called You And I. I wrote this song and Empty when John had us locked up. It reflected my emotions. You and I was about how I missed you and how I could keep you in these arms 'cause we were apart so I kept you in my mind. I just had to give it time and maybe we would be able to plan an escape. I'm so happy that we did. Empty was just about how I started to lose hope and how I felt Empty without you." Lynn explained.
She had such a good way with words. The way she spoke, wrote or sang was so majestic.
"You're so beautiful Lynn." I said, a tear dripping down my face and falling on the ground.
"You too Lara. I don't know what I would have done if I was still locked up in that hellhole." she answered, kissing me passionately. The kiss became more heated but I remembered that we had to ge to my parents' house for diner. I quickly pulled away.
"We have to get ready Lynn."
She sighed and I laughed at her reaction.
"I'm going to take a shower babe. Wanna join me?" I asked. She happily nodded and ran to the bathroom. I chuckled.
She will be the death of me.
