A face behind the mask

I say I’m fine with tears in my eyes and tremor in my voice
To live like an alive but feel like dead is Hobson’s choice
I say I am happy with a smile in my face and commotion in my breath
That smile is a scratched curve in face and life an undefined death.

Clamors of pathetic past inside, deafens me to melodies of nature
Unseen frozen tears in eyes, blinds me to beauty of life’s adventure
Ceaseless cry over dead trusts, dumbs me to replicate people’s wish
Tireless labor carrying my loads weakens me bear heart as bleeding fish.
