Again this was another assignment in school, so I decided to post it on watt pad.  The assignment was we could write any kind of story as long as it ended with and the dog ran away.  Whoop whoop!!! Enjoy!!!

It ate my parents.  It was coming for me.  I'm running.  I'm hiding.  I will die.  I won't survive.  Even if I tried.

Claw Marks

I sat there with my knees to my chest, sobbing.  It was chasing me, but now, it was here.  Clawing at my front door.  While I was waiting for my death to come, I replayed the scene of my parents death in my head.

We were walking home from the park that was just a few blocks away from our home.  A dog passed us dragging...A body.  It looked lifeless, almost like it was dead.  The dog dropped the body at my feet.  I looked at the woman.  She looked about mid-aged.  She had cuts all over her.  Strangely, they were fresh with the blood still pouring out.  The cuts were bad.  I bent down and flipped her over.  She had blood all over her shirt.  I lifted it up, just to see where the blood was coming from.  There was a wide gash across her stomach.  Blood was still pouring out of it.  She needed medical attention, and fast.  I then pressed my ear against her chest.  No heartbeat.  I checked her pulse.  No pulse.  Her skin was extremely pale.  She was dead.  I looked back over at my parents.  They had a worried look on their faces.  I suddenly forgot about the dog that carried her.  The dog looked just slightly smaller than a German Shepherd.  He sat there, staring at me.  His eyes had a green outer ring with a red pupil.  This must be a rare breed.  It suddenly got up o its feet, so it was standing.  It's soulless eyes looked deep into my own.  Its sharp, pearly white fangs smiled at me suddenly.  After it smiled at me, it ran off into a dark alley.

Being the idiot that I am, ran after it, ignoring my parents yelling at me to stop.  When I walked into the alley, it was nowhere to be found.  I heard a blood curling scream from behind me.  I ran to the sound, only to find the dog slashing at my parents chests, blood pouring everywhere.  He finally stopped, letting them drop to the floor.  Unable to stop it, or even stand up, the dog grabbed my father and pinned him to a wall with its claw gripped tightly around my father's neck.  His hand dug into my father's wounded chest, forcefully.  The dog then pulled out my father's heart.  The heart was still beating in the dog's hand.  I saw my dad's eyes roll into the back of his head.  But though my dad was dead, the dog wasn't done yet.  It dug my dad's eyes out of his head.  It had trouble digging the eyes out because of the optic nerve that connected the eye to the nervous system.  The dog couldn't seem to pull the eye out with its claws, so it then used its teeth.  It had no trouble pulling the eye out with its teeth.  After both of my dad's eyes were in the dog's hand, it swallowed them whole.  I stood there, in the shadows in horror.  My mind screamed to run and get help, but my body wouldn't move.  I stood there, frozen.  That's when the dog began eating my dad's body.

After he finished his feast on my dad, he looked at my mom, who had only moved about five feet because she was too weak to move.  He grabbed her ankle and pulled her towards him, no matter how ear piercing her screams were.  Gripping so tightly on her ankle, his claws dug a good five to six inches into her ankle with blood seeping out.  He then dug his claws into my mom's back, and without a sweat, pulled out her spine.  I don't know how, but you could here the loud *crack* as he held up her spine in victory.  He then dug his claw into her head with another loud cracking noise.  He pulled out... Her brain.  He chewed on it, like gum.  So that was it.  My parents were dead.

After all this happened, your probably wondering why I didn't move.  I was frozen in shock and horror.  I had just seen my parent's lives come to an end, mine next and probably similar.  The dog turned it's head.  I think it saw me, so I ran out of that place as fast as I possibly could.  But it was chasing me, and it was gaining on me.  I saw my house.  Just a few more houses to pass.  I suddenly turned to run into the neighbor's yard to confuse the dog.  I started to fall behind, which gave me an advantage.  I got to my front door, quickly found the spare key, and locked the door behind me.  I knew it was coming, and it was coming fast.

I was suddenly snapped out of my trance by the sound of splitting wood.  It was breaking through the door.  I ran upstairs to my room without making a sound, fearing it would hear me.  I locked my bedroom door and pushed all the furniture against it.  I grabbed my baseball bat from the corner of my room, knowing it wouldn't do much, but at least it was something.  I heard growling along with the sound of heavy footsteps coming up the stairs.  It passed by my room, and I let out a breath of relief.  That's when the thing heard my breath and starting scratching at my door.  I panicked, but after about five minutes of unsuccessfully clawing down my door, it walked away.  I heard it go back down the stairs.  I know it would probably still be in my house, so I didn't look out my door.  After I thought I heard it leave, i relaxed a little bit.

I pulled out my phone from my pocket and called the police station.  At first they thought I was crazy, then they realized they had been getting calls like this for the last few weeks.  That scared me.  Not the fact that there is a "wild dog" on the run, but that it's happened before.  They told me to stay where I was, lock all doors and windows, and try to get some sleep with a weapon nearby.  The police gave me the number for animal control and said to explain the appearance of the "animal."  After I thanked them and hung up, I called animal control.  I told the animal control that it was a black dog, with a rough almost scaly fur texture.  It had eyes with a green outer wring, and a red pupil.  It's fangs were pearly white, and razor sharp.  It's claws were also sharp and huge.  They could easily kill someone with one cut across the throat.  After I explained everything that happened, I hung up.  Everything was locked and secure.  I felt safe in my room.  My bed was the only furniture I didn't move against the door.  I decided to sleep a little.  I slept with the baseball bat and held it close to my chest.

After what felt like an hour of sleeping, I suddenly got cold.  Like I left a window open.  Wait.  I locked my window.  I looked over at it and it was wide open.  I panicked.  I jumped out of my bed and hid under it.  After calming myself down, I got up and looked around.  The dog was nowhere to be seen.  I hid back under my bed just in case, and there it was.  It's green and red eyes staring back at me with it's wide smile.  I screamed, but before I could, it grabbed me by the throat.  It then pulled me out from under the bed and started scratching at me.  Until blood basically covered the floor along with my whole body, it started ripping my stomach open.  Once it was satisfied with it's work, it looked at my throat.  Then it took a huge bite out of my throat, making blood spew everywhere.  Then it---

My eyes suddenly shot open.  It was just a dream.  I lifted my shaky hand to my forehead.  I was sweating like crazy.  I looked over at my clock.  It read 9:30 A.M.  I slept in.  I decided to get up and get ready for my day.  After I showered and got dressed, I ran downstairs for breakfast.  There was a stack of pancakes on a plate, waiting for me to devour them.  After a filling breakfast, I grabbed my phone and asked if my best friend wanted to go take a walk with me in the park.  I needed fresh air.  She replied with a yeah sure and a smiley face.

When my friend and I got to the park, we just started wandering around and talking about random stuff like family, friends, school, and boys.  The usual girl talk.  A woman suddenly passed by us with a dog that looked slightly smaller than a German shepherd.  It came up to me and sniffed my foot.  I bent down and pet it.  It was black, with a rough, almost a scaly-like texture.  It's eyes had a green outer ring with a red pupil.  This must be a rare breed.  It looked at me and barked, sticking it's tongue out and panting.  "Come along now!"  The owner, a mid-aged woman said.  She tugged at the leash, but the dog didn't move.  It just sat there and stared at me.  "I already have enough trouble with you at home, tearing up all my curtains and sheets.  Not to mention scratching at my doors!"  The woman said.  The next thing the dog did surprised me.

It smiled at me with it's pearly white fangs that looked extremely sharp...

One bite at the throat and you could be dead...

And the dog ran away...
