My death.  The pain.  I deserved both.  And there's nothing you can do about it.

The Shadows

I knew he was here.  I know when he is here.  Only I see him.  But no one else does.  People think I'm crazy.  They tried to take me away, but failed.  I am hiding.  I must obey his orders or else I get punished.  I walk down these old, creaky stairs.  I enter... My basement.  This house I live in.  It was my family's home.  Until they left.

Who is he?  Well, he isn't human.  He's a creature.  And he haunts me.  He never leaves me.  He's a shadow.  It's midnight.  The perfect time.  He only likes the dark.  He starts to whisper something in my ear.  "You have disobeyed me.  Time for your punishment.  Hold out your wrists."  Knowing what my punishment is, I slowly hold my wrists.

His eyes turn red.  He holds up a knife to my wrists and starts cutting.  I scream out in pain.  "Tonight we aren't alone."  The question why? runs through my head.  Then, as I look around, other shadows with red eyes start to form around me.  They all laugh at me and cheer as tears start to form in my eyes.  Suddenly, tears are rushing down my face.  All the shadows around me were laughing hard.  I felt the blood trickle down my arm.  "Let's raise the price."  He says in an evil tone.

"But y-you already k-killed them!"  I say, both screaming and crying at the same time.  I remember the night they left.  I had to obey his orders, or else I get punished.  He said he didn't like my friends and family, that they were terrible people.  That they deserved a punishment.  Like the ones that I get.  But worse.

I remember bringing them down to the basement.  This very home me and my family lived in.  They tried to take me away to a place full of special people.  Where doctors and nurses can help me.  I didn't believe I needed help, so I denied their attempt into getting me into a mental hospital.  Later that night he showed up and told me that on the next night, I must bring them all down here.  I had no choice.  So I obeyed.

The next night, I knew I didn't want to do this, but I had to.  The day had seem to be dragging.  That day they actually had the nerve to call a mental hospital.  I was going to the hospital at midnight.  The same time I was supposed to end their lives.  Finally it was midnight.  Finally, I had to kill them.  I had to get this over with.  I called all of my friends and family down to the basement, shortly after I did that, there was knocking at our door.  I didn't want any interruptions.  So I grabbed them and pulled them downstairs.  When we reached the basement, the people that were supposed to pick me up burst through the door.

They started protesting that I needed to go to the hospital.  Then he showed up.  They all dropped their jaws to the floor, with wide eyes.  They started questioning me.  The said they were sorry for doubting me.  That's when the doctors decided to join us.  He grabbed them first, sticking the knife he uses to torture me through their chests.  They fell to the ground.  He starting laughing hysterically.  That's when he turned to my friends and family.  They started backing up against the wall.  He was ready to kill them.    They started screaming for help.  They pleaded me to help them.  Tears started forming in my eyes.  There was nothing I could do but stand there and watch.

One by one I watched them fall.  Him pushing and pulling the knife in and out of each of their chest's until they were all on the floor, dead.  After that, other shadows consumed the bodies.  I stood there, helpless.  He came oer to me and smiled.  "Good girl.  Now obey for the rest of your life, or else what happened to them will happen to you."  He said raising his voice.  Then he left.  I stood there, alone.  There was nobody left that I love.

"Well that's too bad.  Now get ready."  He raises the knife to my chest.  I feel the pain.  I know I deserved it.  But I needed that.  The last thing I see is his shadowy figure peering over me.

To my family, friends, and to the people I love.

I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry.
