"Flash! Poof! Their Gone! just like that!" Eleven year old Charlotte "Charlie" Black tried to explain to her mom and uncle Matthew.
"Charlie! Stop telling tales!" Her mother demanded harshly. She couldn't believe her daughter would say such nonsence. Charlie was in the middle of explaining everything that she had just she seen at her beloved Grandpa Conner's house after barging in on her mom and uncles conversation on sending him to an assisted living community called Sunset Crest. "Mom I'm serious!!!" She urged "And then there was this buzzing! Really super loud!!! Like BUZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!" She buzzed. And looked at her mom and uncle hopeing they were convinced. Judging by the dumbstuck look on her uncle's face and her mother massaging her eyes with a sigh, she could tell they weren't convinced.
"How about this Charlie, your mother and I will go visit your Grandpa tomorrow and we'll bring you with us to go see him." Uncle Matthew tried to reason.
"He won't be there." I mummbled under my breath. Adults are soooooooo difficult sometime! Charlie thought to herself as she stomped up to her bed room. She opened and just stood in the doorway looking at herself in the mirror across the room. She straightened her big denium jacket, flattened her puffy pink skirt, ran her fingers threw her short dark hair, fixing and adjusting her outfit until she approved her appearence. What I going to do? THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!
She looked over to the open window that she had used to excape unnoticed the last time. She ran over and climbed out the window and on the the limb of the tree and peddled as quickly as possible to Grandpa Conner's for the second time this evening. When she got to the iron gate surrounding the brick house she jumped off her bike climbed over the gate (again) and burst through the front door and charged up the stairs to the attic. She walked up to the emerald story book in the middle of the dusty floor, and as she did it started to vibrate and glow. Charlie carefully flipped open the cover of the book and a blinding beam of light shot out of the book. She looked a it curiously, running her hand through the beam to see if it would do anything bad. She then she stepped through the beam and suddenly started to fall.
