Chapter 4 - Our New Beginning

It has been less than a month since James and I reunited and now we are a couple but we have decided that to keep peace within our workplace we have not made our relationship exclusive to our friends or family, except Diana who set everything up for this kind of ending and so at work we are complete professional just doing our job but then once work is over and we are at home and we are non-stop in each others faces, sometimes James would come over to mine and I would go over to his apartment to play games, watch our favorite dramas together, do our work together which allows us to both get an understanding of what we do on a daily basis and I must say James is one hell of a busy man but he always seems to be full of energy when we are together.  Well since Christmas is drawing near he will get a lot busier, maybe I should do something special for him. 

That is what I thought until I read the company's gossip blog that is run by anonymous  employees that give us the scoop of our bosses and dramas that are related to the company and on today's top news is James and another woman who seems to be a CEO of the company partnered with ours. The gossip is that the woman fancies James and has been spotted on several outings with him and what angered me the most was that the nights he came home late and cancelled our dates was the exact same days as mentioned in the paper of the sightings. The pictures focused mainly on James and the woman CEO and she is actually very pretty and young too! arrgh! the more I read the more irritated I get, I close my internet browser, stand up from my desk and storm off to the lunch break room, passing Diana whom sits next to me, I see that she is also reading the blog , I glare at the screen and then continue to storm off, Diana trails behind me. 

I enter the break room and scan the room, no one is in here, I walk over to the coffee machine, reach up into the cupboard above my head and pull out a two cups and pour myself and Diana hot cups of coffee as I see her entering into the room and sitting at the round wooden table in the middle of the room, I hand her the cup of coffee and sit in the chair opposite her and silently take sips of my coffee whilst letting out sighs. Diana breaks the silence. 

"Uhm, maybe he was just having meetings on those occasions" she says trying to lighten the mood.

I glance at her as I put the empty coffee cup onto the table and reach into my skirt pocket and pull out my mobile.

"Do you think he would've at least told me that he had a meeting with this CEO woman instead of lying to me saying that he had to stay back late at the office and that our dates were cancelled" I say aggressively as I show Diana the messages on my phone from James on the days that he cancelled our dates. 

Diana takes my phone and squints at the screen as she reads his excuses, she then hands me back my phone and sighs. 

"I love you and you know how straightforward I can be about these things, so when you go home after work today go to him and talk it out" she advises as she sips her coffee.

"Wait, what?" I say abruptly. 

Diana puts her cup on the table and then looks at me straight in the eyes.

"I'm saying, go and tell him that you are aware of his outings with this CEO lady and that you don't like it! Geez!" she exclaims.

"So what you're saying is that you want me to admit to him that I am jealous of that woman?" I say snickering. 

Diana stands up, takes both our cups to the sink, rinses them then puts them in the dish washer, she then turns back around and looks at me sitting in my chair, shakes her head and sighs.
