__________ Story Start ___________
My eyes flew open and I stared into the night, its gorgeous skies the color of pitch. They were around here again. I could hear them. In the night their footsteps rang out, sharp to my overly-sensitive ears. I hated them instantly. I bounded over the tree branches and stopped over the loud duo.
"Are we there yet, un?" Asked a male with long blond hair. I almost thought he was a girl.
"Will you shut up? She's around here somewhere." The redhead spoke. I resisted the urge to growl. I had an advantage- I could see perfectly. The redhead wasn't fully human, I got a woody scent off of him. The blond stank of clay.
I was right above them now. The blond looked up, his eyes unseeing in this darkness. "Do you hear that, danna, un?" He asked. I frowned and silently fled. The sun would rise soon, and that's when I couldn't see very well.
An hour later, I stood in front of Lady Tsunade, who had kindly agreed to darken the room. "So what did you want to tell me, Yoru?" She asked, her creamy brown eyes sparkling in the dim light. I dipped my head respectfully.
"Hokage-sama, the two members of the Akatsuki have been roaming the forest around Konoha again. The bakas were extremely loud, and were searching for an unknown female." I said. My voice was just loud enough for her to hear.
Lady Tsunade nodded, and her eyes gained a far away look. "What to do..." She said, tapping her chin. She downed a shot-glass full of what I presumed to be sake, as she usually did.
"May I offer a suggestion, Hokage-sama?" I said quietly. Lady Tsunade eyed me critically before nodding. "May I suggest not doing anything for the moment? Perhaps it would be wise to simply amp up security around the village, and watch for further activity?" Lady Tsunade's eyes flared with irritation before she began to mull over what I had said.
"Yoru-san, you have a point." She said, downing yet another glass of her precious alcohol. "Continue to keep watch on the forest. Thank you for coming to me today. Would you like an escort out?" I nodded.
Lady Tsunade opened the blinds and I was forced to shut my eyes. "Kakashi, just the ninja I was looking for!" She said. I could practically see Kakashi sweatdropping.
"Yes, Lady Hokage?" He asked. "Ohayo, Yoru-chan."
"Ohayo, Kakashi-kun." I replied.
"Kakashi, please escort Yoru to a place until dark, when she can leave." Lady Tsunade said. I imagined Kakashi nodding.
"As you wish, Hokage-sama." We both murmured. Kakashi quietly led me out of the room and into the dim(mer) hallway. "Yoru-chan do you need something to cover your eyes?" Kakashi asked.
"Yes, please. The light hurts my eyes since I'm not used to it." I whispered. Kakashi placed a long strip of cloth around my eyes. Perhaps it was a bandana.
"Alright. I'm going to carry you to the Nara household. Shikamaru should be there. He'll know what to do and I'm sure he'll be happy to see you again." I nodded and relaxed as Kakashi jumped from rooftop to rooftop.
