I looked out the window as we passed by Buckingham Palace. I noticed the guards who stood still and emotionless by the gates, all dressed in their red uniforms and black hats.
A couple minutes later, the taxi stopped in front of a row of flats. I paid the driver and thanked them for the ride. As the taxi pulled away, I walked up to the front door of The Crimson Killers' flat.
I raised my hand hesitantly, then knocked three times. After a few seconds, I was greeted by the smiling face of the blue haired man I met at the nightclub.
"Hello Y/N. Come on in." Ethan said cheerfully.
I stepped into the flat. "Thank you."
I suddenly felt him start to remove my black trench coat. "I will take that for you."
"Such a gentleman." I laughed.
I began to slip my ankle boots off when I heard his voice. "Oh it is quite alright to leave your shoes on."
"Alright." I said as I stood up straight again.
He led me upstairs to the second floor where the kitchen, dining room, and lounge area was.
"Nathan! Y/N is here!" He called as our feet touched the last step.
We walked right up to the kitchen island, watching Nathan cook dinner on the stove top.
He turned around and smiled. "Hello again Y/N."
"Hello." I greeted him.
"What are you cooking?" Ethan asked.
"Surprise." Nathan replied, refocusing himself on the stove top.
Ethan then took my hand and led me over to the lounge area. I sat down on the couch and placed my clutch purse on the coffee table.
"Anything to drink?" He inquired.
"Water will be fine." I responded with a smile.
He nodded and headed off to the kitchen. He returned moments later with two glasses of water and handed one of them to me. Sitting down next to me, he took a sip from his glass.
"So," the blue haired man began, "how is the law course at Uni of London?"
I quickly thought of an answer. "I enjoy it. So far we have learned about how courts operate and the roles of everyone present. Next I believe we will be looking at the criminal justice system."
"Oh, that sounds interesting."
"It is. I cannot wait until we get into the lawyer part of the course."
"What kind of lawyer do you want to be? Anything specific?"
I paused to take a sip of water, buying myself a few seconds to continue my lie. "I either want to be a traffic lawyer or a family lawyer."
Ethan looked slightly confused. "Traffic lawyer?"
"They fight for people or give advice to them when they have violated a traffic law and stuff like that."
"Oh, I am sure there is a lot of that in London." He laughed.
I laughed along. "It is a high volume job. Lots of clients."
"So what makes you also lean towards being a family lawyer?"
I thought about my answer. I had to say it in the most non-accusatory way possible, as he partook in the action. I just could not let him know that yet. "Well, five years ago my parents were murdered by a group of people in our home. Since that incident, I decided that one of my career options should be to help other families because I could not help my own."
