|chapter eighteen|

first of all SORRY. school really had me fucked up so yeahhh enjoy:)
may woke up to her phone ringing loudly. she slowly opened her eyes to look at the id.
no surprise, it was jack.
with tour going on, the didn't have time to talk and the time zones made it a hundred times more difficult.
she slides her finger across the screen lazily as both of the jack's faces popped up on the screen, singing "happy birthday".
she smiled as she sat on the bed.
the jacks finished their songs shortly after holding up a little cupcake with one single candle on it.
johnson was the one to speak first,
"we're so sorry we can't be there on your twenty first birthday! and this was the best we could find." he said referring to the cupcake.
"yeah, sorry may. still love you." gilinsky added after him.
"thank you guys, as much as it made me happy it's only twenty past seven for me." may said laughing.
"oh shit sorry. we just wanted to call you at midnight and we couldn't call at your midnight." johnson said smiling.
"it's totally okay i just wish i didn't stay up until three a.m. " may laughed it off carelessly.
"damn, did you hit some clubs?"
may just laughed loudly shaking her head.
"no but me, olivia and yiğit threw a party here. and that reminds me i shouldn't be so loud because yiğit is just in the room next to mine."
they continued chatting for a few minutes and eventually gilinsky left, leaving the two "lovers".
"again, i'm so sorry babe i wanted to be there while you were turning twenty one. i should've been there you just turn twenty one once in so-"
       "hey, it's okay. you don't need to stress that much."
      jack sighed looking down.
being twenty one was a special thing and he couldn't be there.
     "okay, let's close the subject and open a better one. your birthday present."
     "please don't tell me you shipped something-"
      "you better believe i did."
    "jack! that's too expensive what are you thinking?"
       "that you're worth it. but seriously you're going to love it. at least i hope."
        "you know you could ship me a rose and i would love it."
          jack chuckled looking down. she had his heart and he had hers. they completed each other.
         "hey can you call me from my laptop really quick i'm low on battery." may spoke looking at her phone screen. 
        "yeah, sure a minute."
she smiled at him as he closed the call opening his computer and calling may.
       meanwhile may was opening her computer, she heard yiğit calling her from the living room.
          "yeah!" she shouted from her room, still trying to open the computer which was glitching.
          yiğit walked in rubbing his eyes.
"inan bana, hayatımda başım hiç bu kadar ağrımamıştı."
  [believe me, i've never had a bigger head ache]
    "senin yerinde olsam o kadar içki içmezdim."
    [if i were you i wouldn't have drunk that much]
     yiğit rolled his eyes as he asked if she was calling j from her computer.
    when they were in may's summerhouse the two boys strangely created a strong bond. yiğit still kinda disliked j. he couldn't believe may choose j over him, when he has been with her since they were kids.
       aside from that thoughts, he was still thankful for j not being jealous of their friendship, which was often mistaken as a "relationship".
      j opened the call seeing may and also yiğit's face. yiğit waved hi before going back to the living room.
    may and j continued talking, olivia and yiğit disturbing from time to time.
      the doorbell rang as may ran to get it.
"no way jack."
"what?"
   "you really sent me a fucking present"
"i told you. and it's not good but this was the best thing i could think of."
"jack are you kidding even the thought counts. and you really spent 200 dollars on this i can't believe you."
"you're always worth it"
    she opened the present as her eyes widened.
    "jack i-"
   she stopped talking as she opened the letter on the package.
    "no, that's for you to read lastly"
she put the letter to the side as she got one of the presents- which was packaged in a little box- out. 
      she opened it as her smile got bigger. she looked up at j.
     "you like it? i didn't know what to get you but i definitely knew i wanted to get you a necklace."
      she took the necklace which had a plane charm. the places it around her neck and smiled.
     "thank you so much. you didn't have to-"
"i did maya. i really did."
     as she unpacked the rest of the stuff- like t-shirts, and note sheets to songs that may always wanted to learn- jack watched her closely smiling and laughing every time she unpacked one thing, the thing leaving her in shock and happiness.
       and lastly, she opened the letter again.
the first four words was enough to make her smile wide, as the rest would bring tears into her eyes.
