Chapter 13: Showers and Histories
(a/n) OMG IM SO SORRY THAT ITS BEEN NEARLY A YEAR SINCE IVE LAST UPDATED IM SO SORRY
Sequels are SO hard to write, and I finished the ending before I even began the middle. Because of that, I was never inspired to write the body of this story. Now, however, I know that I need to finish this for you guys, and I have a little surprise for you all at the end of this story ;) Happy reading, and again, IM SO SORRY
*NEW* (a/n) it's been another year lmaoooo, but THE SURPRISE IS STILL COMING
"Why does it smell like a cat threw up a 200-pound hairball in here?" Faith's loud void demanded, waking me up.
I forced my eyes open and was met with sunshine seeping through a grimy window. My stomach was no longer killing me, and I actually felt quite better. I sat up and stretched, struggling to ignore the awful stickiness on my body. I really needed to shower and brush my teeth.
"Okay, who got food poisoning?" Faith asked. She appeared in the hallway, leaning against the wall with her arms folded over her chest. "I warned y'all that I'd be out if someone got food poisoning."
"It wasn't me," Jasmine said, coming up from behind her friend. "It couldn't have been Reese either because I think that she was driving all night."
"That's just great," Faith grumbled. "The trailer stinks and now we have no idea where we are."
"What makes you say that?" I asked, looking out the window. Nothing but cornfields were stretched as far as the eye could see.
"I'm sorry, but can you tell an Oklahoma cornfield apart from a Texas cornfield?"
"We can ask Reese when she wakes up," Jasmine said gently. "Let her rest for now. We're in no hurry."
I opened my mouth to remind her that we were, but then I thought about it. Were we in a hurry anymore? Our New York shows were long over, and the band was probably moving on to its next state. Since the guys didn't call me anymore, I had no idea where they were. Maybe we weren't in a hurry after all.
"Who wants to clean the bathroom?" Faith asked with fake enthusiasm.
"Move," I said, nudging her out of the way. "I'll shower and then clean it."
"Thank you, Luke, but you don't have to do that," Jasmine began, but Faith cut her off.
"Fine," she said. "Make sure you do a good job. It's disgusting in there."
Please stop talking, I thought, my face growing hotter and hotter with each word she spoke. I should have cleaned up after getting sick all over the place, but I had really needed to rest.
As I prepared for my shower, I came to the conclusion that Jasmine must have helped me out. It clearly wasn't Faith, judging by how much of a jerk she was. Why would Jasmine help me, though? I thought that she didn't like me anymore. Well, she probably didn't like me at all now that she knew what I was like when I was sick. It definitely wasn't pretty. Man, I was going to be permanently embarrassed for the rest of my life.
I took an extremely hot shower, and it felt amazing. Unfortunately, since I was the only dude on this trailer, there weren't any male-scented shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, or anything like that. I spotted a lavender-and-daisy-scented cleanser, and I was reminded once again of Jasmine. I decided to use it since I didn't want to smell like strawberries and unicorns on the other hand.
I have a tendency to sing in the shower, it's something that I can't restrain. Sometimes I feel like I do some of my best singing in the shower than on stage. This was also where I tested out some songs that I wrote on my own.
