"Did you do it?" Maisy asked.
"Yeah." Beca sighed.
"Finally." Maisy replied. "You needed to get rid of her."
"I feel really bad." Beca confessed. "She looked so confused and upset."
"So? That's what a breakup is like." Maisy said plainly. "She'll get over it."
The next few weeks were rough for Beca. All of her friends took Chloe's side so she and Maisy sat alone in the cafeteria.
"Baby, wanna come over tonight?" Maisy asked, then leaned closer to Beca. "My parents are away."
"Um okay." Beca found herself saying. Deep down she was terrified. Sure, she's had sex hundreds of times, but it was with Chloe. Gentle, loving, Chloe. Being with Maisy was a whole different experience for Beca and she wasn't sure she was ready to take this step.
Nevertheless, she went home with Maisy and before she knew it, they were passionately kissing on Maisy's bed. Maisy removed Beca's jacket, then shirt, then pants and admired the tiny figure laying beneath her.
Beca was in shock. She didn't know if she wanted to do this, but at the same time, she didn't want to embarrass herself by saying no.
Maisy worked quickly and soon Beca was completely naked. Maisy was rough, as Beca had expected, but things moved much faster than with Chloe. Chloe. She missed Chloe.
"Chloe!" Beca moaned as she finished.
"What?" Maisy backed off of Beca. "Did you just moan Chloe's name?"
"No?" Beca lied. "Why would I do that? I'm over her."
"You did." Maisy said. "I can't believe you."
"I can't believe you." Beca corrected.
"Me?" Maisy scoffed. "What did I do?"
"You didn't ask me if I wanted to have sex with you! You just took advantage of me!" Beca yelled. "You ruined my life, Maisy. You just showed up out of nowhere, then tell me to dump Chloe to be with you! You can't just do that!"
"She was way too-" Maisy started.
"Don't say clingy! She wasn't too clingy, she was the perfect girlfriend and you know it. You were jealous of her because she's perfect!" Beca yelled.
She started to get dressed and gather her things, then marched out the door.
"We're done." Beca said as she slammed the door and began to walk to Chloe's house.

Now here's how Chloe's month went...
"What happened?" Kelly rounded the corner just as Chloe closed the front door.
"I think she dumped me." Chloe said softly.
"Why?" Kelly asked as she pulled Chloe into a hug.
"She didn't say." Chloe sighed. She could feel a tear escape her eye and drip to the floor. "I'm going upstairs." She said before pulling away from Kelly's embrace and rushed upstairs.
She drew a bath and just sat there crying. She wished Beca had at least given her a reason.
The next week, when break was over, she returned to school and her friends asked her about the break.
"Beca dumped me." Chloe sighed. "She didn't even say why."
"That's it!" Jessica said in anger. "She's officially disinvited to our lucky table!"
"Isn't that a little harsh?" Ashley asked.
"She deserves it." Stacie shrugged.
"Yeah." Amy agreed. Amy was Beca best friend, but right now, Amy wanted nothing to do with the brunette.
At lunch, they all sat spaced out in a way that there was no room for Beca. They watched as Beca walked into the lunch room, holding Maisy's hand.
Chloe groaned. She had known Maisy was trouble. Why hadn't she trusted her gut?
"Oh my God." Jessica said through gritted teeth.
"Calm down, Babe." Ashley said, rubbing Jessica's arm. "I mean Bud. Calm down, Bud."
Everyone stared at Jessica and Ashley until they heard Beca's voice.
"Hey guys." Beca said shyly. "Any room for us?"
"No." Jessica said and held up her middle finger.
"Amy?" Beca looked at her best friend hopefully.
"You screwed up, Hobbit." Amy shook her head. "You screwed up big time."
Chloe lost the motivation to get dressed and eventually just wore sweatpants and a sweater to school, losing her shot at the "best dressed" yearbook slot, which she had held for the past two years.
"Dear Beca,
There really is no purpose to writing these notes anymore since you clearly don't want to spend the rest of your life with me anymore. You broke my heart. I wish you would understand how much you meant to me. The last words I said were 'I love you' and I mean it. I love you so much, Becs.
Love,
~Chloe 1/25/18"

"Beca?" Paige answered the door. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see Chloe." Beca said. "There's something I need to tell her."
"Come in, I guess." Paige said.
Cosette came running over to Beca and jumped at her feet.
"Hi Cosy." Beca said in a puppy voice. "I missed you."
"What do you want?" Chloe said, coming down the stairs.
"I am so sorry, Chloe." Beca said. "There's no good excuse for what I did."
"You're right." Chloe said. "At least tell me why."
"While you were away, Maisy was over my house and...things got a bit out of hand." Beca confessed. "Kissing her felt different. I told her that I was dating you and she insisted you were too clingy, which you're not. At least not to me. But I believed her."
"What made you realize she was wrong?" Chloe asked.
"I just had sex with her." Beca confessed.
"Eww oh my God!" Chloe stepped even farther from Beca. "Why?"
"I didn't want to!" Beca defended. "I didn't know how to say no."
"How was she?" Chloe asked.
"Not as good as you." Beca smirked and Chloe blushed. "It's over now, Chloe. I told her what a bitch she is and I left. I promise, if you take me back, I will never hurt you again."
"I can't just forgive you." Chloe sighed.
"Remember when I forgave you for being mean? I feel so bad for what I put you through and I will do anything to make it up to you." Beca said.
"Anything?" Chloe quirked her eyebrow.
"Within reason!" Beca corrected herself.
"I think we can make it work." Chloe smiled slightly.
"Do I kiss you now?" Beca asked.
"Yes!" Kelly, Paige and Reno yelled from the living room.
Beca and Chloe laughed before connecting their lips.
