"Dear Beca,
Today is Christmas and I'm sad we don't get to spend it together. I've had a very rough month but I'm so glad I got to spend it with you.

Chloe smiled at the piece of paper then checked her phone. It was 2 pm and she still hadn't gotten a "merry Christmas" message from Beca.

"Merry Christmas, Babe. Miss you <3" Chloe typed and sent to Beca.

Beca's phone buzzed while she was eating a late lunch with Jenna and Mason.

"Who is it?" Jenna asked her.

"Chloe wishing me a merry Christmas." Beca said, putting the phone down.

"Aren't you going to reply?" Jenna asked.

"Nah." Beca said.

"Are things not going well?" Jenna asked.

"I think she's too clingy." Beca said.

"You think she's too clingy? Or does Maisy think she's too clingy?" Jenna asked.

"How do you know about that?" Beca asked, her eyes widening.

"I saw you guys kissing." Jenna sighed. "I'm really disappointed in you."

"What did I do?" Beca asked.

"You know you shouldn't be kissing Maisy while you're with Chloe." Jenna said. "Chloe is such a sweetheart and she loves you so much. Don't mess it up."

"What if I don't love her?!" Beca snapped.

"You don't love her?" Jenna asked.

"I don't know!" Beca said in frustration.

"I think you do." Jenna said.

"I don't care what you think!" Beca yelled.

"Beca still hasn't texted me back." Chloe said to Kelly. "Do you think she's okay?"

"I don't know." Kelly sighed.

"Are you okay?" Chloe asked. Kelly was clearly uncomfortable.

"Is it weird that I'm actually happy to be pregnant?" Kelly asked.

"Considering the way you got pregnant, yes." Chloe said.

"I always wanted a little baby of my own and now I'm going to have one." Kelly confessed.

Chloe moved her face to Kelly's stomach.

"Hey there." Chloe said. "I have the same Dad as you because your mom was stupid and screwed up big time. But don't worry your other mom is nice and forgave her."

"Shut up and go find out if your girlfriend is still alive!" Kelly laughed.

Chloe grabbed her phone and dialed Jenna's number. Jenna picked up right away.

"Hello." Jenna said.

"Hi Jenna. Is Beca okay?" Chloe asked.

"Yeah she's fine." Jenna said. "Why are you asking?"

"I was worried because she wasn't replying to my texts or answering my calls." Chloe said.

"I'll make sure to tell her you called." Jenna said, frustrated with her sister.

"Thank you." Chloe said before hanging up.

The next day, Chloe took Reno out onto the frozen pond. Reno struggled but was able to catch her balance and learned quickly how to skate forward.

"This is fun!" Reno said, all smiles.

"I'm glad you like it." Chloe said. "Maybe you can take lessons when we get home."

"Yay!" Reno squealed.

"Annabeca Elizabeth!" Jenna yelled.

"What?" Beca asked.

"Why aren't you talking to Chloe?" Jenna asked.

"She's too clingy, remember?" Beca said.

"She's worried about you." Jenna said. "You need to call her."

"I'll just talk to her when she gets back." Beca sighed.

The day Chloe got back, Beca was at her door.

"Beca!" Chloe hugged her girlfriend so tight, but Beca didn't hug back. "I missed you."

"I think we should take a break." Beca said.

"What?" Chloe asked.

"We shouldn't date anymore." Beca said.

"But..." Chloe's voice cracked and her lip quivered. "I love you."

"I'm sorry." Beca said and walked away.

After everything they'd been through, how could she just end it like that? It didn't make sense to Chloe. Nothing ever made sense! She was fed up.
