(Max's P.O.V) Simon and I were going to the Hunter's Moon tonight. We were celebrating something..... I can't really remember what. We're celebrating anyway. I'm not wearing anything fancy, neither is he, as far as I know. Simon came to pick me up and he ran us both there. "Jeez I need to get used to this" I groaned as Simon placed me on the floor. We walked inside and sat at the bar. Maia greeted us and got us some drinks. Simon seemed really distant, not talking to me, almost like he was ignoring me.... "Are you ok?" I asked. "Huh.... Oh sorry I'm just really out of it" he replied. I leave to go to the bathroom. I walked out... and it was like the world stood still. In front of me was Simon and Maia kissing. I should have known. They were constantly talking and flirting before. Now this. Tears sting at my eyes as I run out of the Hunter's Moon, I heard footsteps behind me so I just ran faster. I ran all the way back to the New York institute and ran through the place to my room. I heard Izzy call after me as I ran through. I collapsed on my bed and didn't know what to think. As much as I hate Simon for kissing Maia, I still love the dork so much. Izzy finally caught up to me when she opened my room door. "What happened? Aren't you supposed to be out with Simon?" Izzy asked. "Y-yeah. B-but he kissed M-maia" I stutter. "Oh honey no" she sympathised. "I-I-I'm fine..." I reply. "Max you clearly aren't and I don't wanna see my favourite sister get hurt" she fired back. "Favourite sister?" I inquire. "Yeah you're like my sister, and you're my favourite person in this entire building" she responds. "Thanks Iz" I chuckle. "As much as I love you, we have to go to sleep at some point. And you have training tomorrow with Alec so you need some rest" Iz reminded me. "Ok Izzy love ya" I smiled. "Love ya to Max" She replies. She left my room and my eyes reluctantly closed.
(Simon's P.O.V) What have I done? I kissed Maia when I have Max. I'm so stupid. I've had multiple messages from people at the institute. Even Clary messaged me asking what happened with Max. And those two hate each other. I've really screwed up. I got a call from Izzy.

"You messed up" "I know" "You REALLY messed up" "I KNOW OK!" "Calm down. You just have to apologize to her. And really mean it." "I know. It was stupid of me to kiss her in the first place. I'm sorry." "You shouldn't be apologizing to me" "I know. I gotta go I need to make sure that I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow" "OK. She has training with Alec tomorrow morning so come by around 8 maybe?" "Yeah ok."
*the next morning*
(Max's P.O.V) I woke up with the sun blinding me, with Izzy shaking me awake. "Come on get up!" she shouts. "Okay okay I get it" I groan. I slowly get up and get dressed.

And then Alec came in. "You ready to train?" he smirks. "I'm ready to whoop your but!" I exclaim. He chuckles and rolls his eyes. We get up and walk to the training room but I'm stopped by someone calling my name. I turn around and see the last person I wanted to see right now. Simon. My instinct is to run away. But I have to stand my ground. "Why are you here?" I try to growl but it ends up sounding like a whisper. "I'm here to apologise and I want to talk and I want you to listen" he states. "Leave her alone vamp boy" Alec says bluntly. "Just let me speak" Simon retorts. I stay silent. "Ok. So I know what I did was so so wrong, but Max I love you. I love everything about you. I love your beautiful blonde curly hair, your body, your glasses, your height, your nerdy yet cute personality. Everything. Maia is nothing, plus she kissed me. So please, please Max believe me. I love you and I can't lose you. You are the one person that has kept me sane through all this shadow world stuff. Please Max, I'm begging you to believe me. I love you." My eyes begin to sting. I know I shouldn't have but I ran into his arms and couldn't help but sink into his touch. "It's fine you don't need to apologise, you didn't do anything wrong." I choke out. "Thank you so much. Hey! That's another reason why I love you you're so forgiving" Simon chuckles. "I love you to Simon" I smile.
