Wes

"Alpha?" she murmured softly, grabbing my arm and trailing it to my chest. I frowned looking up trying to see who it was.

"Leave me alone" I slurred waving the bottle with one hand and pushing her back with the other. I looked at my Beta, Lakes, and waved him over, "Git her away" I mumbled.

"You heard him" he said at who knows who and she moved away towards another guy. He looked down at me and laughed, "You're such a softie".

"Waiting for my mate" I mumbled taking another sip.

"Its not like you haven't been with anyone" he stated.

I glared a t him, "That was months ago. Besides, she has to be close. She's gotta be somewhere".

"Live a little!" he laughed and pushed me another bottle, "Just not too much. We're visiting your brother tomorrow, ok?".

"Son of a bitch" I grumbled taking another sip to forget that I did in fact have to go see my brother tomorrow. Mom wanted us to not forget about each other. How could I forget that asshole?

I groaned and grabbed the next few bottles knowing it would be a long day tomorrow.

.

I shifted and Lakes gave me a pair of shorts. He himself and a few other pack warriors that had come with me changed too. I groaned at the sight of the familiar borderline that meant my brother's border. "Why do I have to do this again?".

"Because your mom, our former Luna, said so" Lakes stated. "And because its been months since you last saw him".

"Can't I just send a letter? Post card?" I asked.

"Not a chance" Lakes laughed with a few others. I sighed and rolled my eyes at him. "Besides, haven't you heard? He has a new mate...".

I looked at Alpha and my best friend since we were only pups. I knew how much he didn't like his brother, heck everyone knew that when it came to siblings for him. But he too had to speak to him sometime and seeing as his brother wouldn't do it, we had to go back into his land. I had never seen his brother yet I knew they disliked each other.

I walked into the borderline and looked around waiting for the pack warriors to scent us, "Just go in" Wes mumbled walking past me.

"But you're passing the line! Trespassing!" I said.

Wes looked over his shoulder to me, "This land was my mothers. I have a right to be here too" he stated.

"And he has a right for yours?" I asked without a second thought.

Wes stopped and turned to me, "Of course not! He cannot cross my land. Mother sent me here so I have my pass whether he likes it or not" he growled.

I lifted my hands up in surrender, "I was just saying".

Suddenly, he stopped and lifted his head. I raised an eyebrow at him and he growled slowly, "Lakes, go around. No less than ten meters. The rest of you, behind me. Now!".

I frowned in confusion as I trotted around the place where he had been. I ran at a semi-circle and surrounded whatever it was he smelled. Suddenly, the fresh scent of a she-wolf filled the air. I raised an eyebrow as I walked forward. I shifted and made my way towards the white fur up ahead. A white she-wolf! White! They were so rare!

She turned around and I growled a warning. No running, I thought even if she couldn't hear me. She turned around and froze when she saw Alpha.
