***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

It was yet another summer day in mid July. Some were just coming back from vacation, and some where just leaving. I for one, had just stayed in this small town in Rhode Island.

The sun was finally deciding to calm down just a notch, leaving the atmosphere almost comfortable. But the boring day was really getting to me. So I decided to call up Shannon, the best friend anyone could ever have.

We're closer than my feet to the ground. Bad analogy. Any who, we're like sisters and nobody is closer than us. Explaining our friendship would just take...years.(:

"YELLOW PURPLE ORANGE!" I screamed into the phone, at the sound of Shannon's voice.

"You're stupid."

We laughed and I told her that I wanted to have her over so we can take a walk to the park. I figured it would be great, since I had to lose weight.

"Alright then, I'll be over soon.. NOW SHUT UP YOU'RE SKINNY! You little butt munch!!"

I chuckled to myself and hung up. I just sat in the comfort of my room and waited until the doorbell rang. I stared out into space when I felt something fuzzy rub against my leg. I jumped around 10 feet in the air and looked down to see a large Oreo colored bundle of joy.

Oh, It's just Mr. Mow Mow. Ha-ha, no I'm just kidding, I would never name my pretty kitty that. His name was peanut. I picked him up and placed him onto my lap, petting him and earning a couple 'purrs' I leaned back and smiled. I wasn't overweight. Far from it. I was in fact underweight if anything. Not so much that everyone would consider me unhealthy, however.

I just carried a little baby fat in my stomach and you couldn't notice it unless you really looked. But to me, it was HUGE. I was planning on losing it before school started.

I began to get lost in my thoughts and that's when I heard a faint knocking on my door, slowly going into a very obnoxious ringing. I grunted, and let Peanut jump off my lap as I lazily dragged myself to open the door.

"Why didn't you answer the door?!" I stretched my arms and gave her the 'look'.

"Too lazy." I grinned and she rolled her eyes, shutting the door behind her.

"Figures Cho."

I shrugged my shoulders and heard my brother far off in the distance yelling at his video game. Cho wasn't my name my last name actually. She just enjoyed calling me by my last name a lot. We ended up in my room, talking for a little bit and then after about 5 minutes I decided it was time to go, and I quickly slipped on a pair of converse, dark wash skinny jeans, and a regular white V-neck short sleeve shirt. The outfit was plain, but we were only going to the park so the outfit was fine for me. Shannon was practically wearing the same thing, but a Grey shirt.

"TO THE PARK OF DOOM!" I shouted, and stuck my chest out, like superman! I have a tendency to have random outbursts like that. But only around Shannon. She gave me a weird look, chuckled, and called me a retard. And that's how most of our conversations go.. Not. Each and every single conversation we have is different in its own special way.

I yelled "BYE" into the house, Before shutting the front door behind me, and I didn't expect a reply from anyone. I'd be back soon, right? I let myself get comfortable in the new change of atmosphere and we walked down the sidewalk. The park was just down the street so it wouldn't take too long before we got there. I just couldn't stand the summer heat.

Our walking slowed down as Shannon nudged my elbow with hers and just kept it there, pushing me to the side a bit. That's how I knew there was something important she had to say.

"Omg there's a hot guy with hair sitting on the swing all lonely!"

I stopped and looked a bit far off into the distance. You might be a tad confused on what she meant when she said Hair.

That's another thing between us. It really means that there is a guy with amazing hair. And for us, that's usually longish hair, below the ears. Shaggy, straight, maybe some hair falling into their eyes.

In other words, "emo" hair. As the stupid people here call it. Everybody labels everything. They even labeled us as the emo skater freaks. Well, actually they did. Who knows what will happen this year.

".... Ooo...I could have fun. Haha."

We continued walking, staring at the teenager just sitting on the swing with a skateboard next to the pole. As I got closer I could finally make him out. His outfit consisted of black skinny jeans, and a white band tee shirt. As well as checkered Vans and his hair was for sure amazing. It was amazingly straight, and it fell in front of his eyes, the tips were red and the rest of his hair was jet black.

Just like mine! I smiled and let Shannon know that and she poked my shoulder.

"September!!! You have to go say Hi to him," - I violently shook my head-

"You have to! You're the more outgoing one!"

"Wait a bit..and see what happens."

We finally approached the park, sitting under a shady tree, off to the side of the swings, not too close, but not too far. He wasn't in hearing range. I was a tad bit shy, because even though I was much more outgoing, I still got nervous around boys. i've never been asked out, and I've liked quite a fewe people in the past. I glanced at him through my eyes a couple of times and looked at Shannon.

"He's getting up!"

She yelled, and then realized she was a bit too loud so she blushed and put her head down whispering "oh no no no no no!" I fake glared at her and felt myself blush. And now he was going to think we were stalking him. Oh please don't let him walk over here, I begged silently to myself. But a little part of me didn't want this stranger to leave either. Maybe sitting under the tree wasn't a good idea. i started getting a little hot and covered my face with my bangs, and created a curtain. I glanced his way and noticed something.

He was staring right at us with a smirk on his face.
