(Sci)

I hated having a blindfold, but at least I could trust who guided me.

"Red, where are we going?" I asked him for maybe the sixth time.

"Be quiet, nerd, we're almost there," Red said in his rough voice.

Sighing, I accepted it. Red had led me blindfolded into a car, out of a car, down a sidewalk, a set of stairs, and now we were on a dirt path. What next?

Almost as soon as I had the thought I nearly fell forward as we stepped onto some unexpected soft ground. Red held me tightly, so I didn't fall, but my soul jolted as I stumbled. As we kept walking, I noted the soft ground as it shifted under my feet. Sand? Why are we walking on sand? With the thought, I heard a gentle swishing and birds calling. Are we on the beach?

I smiled at the thought. I loved the beach.

We walked for a little longer before Red stopped me and ripped the blindfold off. Blinking in the bright sunlight, I looked around. We were on the beach, and before me was one of the most beautiful set-ups Red had ever done for me. A large blanket under a huge umbrella rested with a picnic basket and a bucket full of ice and a bottle of champagne. There were a small gift and a bouquet of white roses. My favorites...

"Ya like it?"

Turning to Red I hugged him tightly, "Red, this is amazing!"

He chuckled, hugging back. I pulled away and went onto the blanket after kicking my shoes off.

"Where did you find time to do all this?" I asked him, beaming around.

"I had some help," he said, "So ya like it?"

"Like it?" I picked up the roses, shoving them in my face, "Babe, I love it!"

Red chuckled as I sniffed the roses, "You remembered my favorites, too!"

"'course I did, nerd, " he smirked at me, "Think I don' pay attention to ya?"

"I just didn't think you noticed the roses in my lab..." I smiled shyly. Red scooted next to me, nudging me. I looked up and his face was really close to mine.

"I noticed a hell of a lot more 'bout ya than roses, Sci..." he kissed me gently before pulling away and grabbing the picnic basket. "Like how ya love steak sandwiches with ketchup and barbeque kettle chips," he pulled out said food from the basket and I felt tears well up in my eyes. He looked at me, then stared at me as a few small tears fell.

"Ya okay, Sci?" he asked worriedly. I nodded, speechless. Letting out a breathy laugh I tackled him in a hug. We fell to the ground as I hugged him, laughing and crying.

"What did I do to deserve a boyfriend like you?" I asked, breathing in the stale mustard scent of his fluffy jacket.

Red chuckled and pulled my face up to his, "Not much. Ya were just adorable," he stroked my cheek as I blushed, "and really, really tight..." I went bright blue at his words. Smirking evilly, Red thrust up in my legs, which were splayed on either side of him so I straddled him. I squeaked, and he did it again as I scrambled off of him. Red laughed as I scrambled and sat back, blushing furiously.

"Geez, nerd, chill. I was only playin'," he laughed.

"I-I know," I said, my face still warm. Red laughed some more, pulling the basket between us.

"C'mon, let's eat," he said, offering me a sandwich. I took it, my blush dying down. Scooting up next to him, I leaned on him as we ate.

As Red popped open the champagne he grinned at me and gave me a kiss, "Happy Valentines, Sci."
