"I love you." whispered Harry softly in Valerie's ear. She looked at him in shock as the words left his lips. His pale white skin sparkled in the sunlight. She backed away.
"Don't do this to me." she whispered, slowly backing away.
"I know you love me too." said Harry confidently. "I just know it..." He took a step closer. "Just admit it, Val." his voice was smooth, and his words flowed like silk - he was so hard to resist.
"Harry...." Valerie choked out.

3 Months Earlier....
"Everybody please pick a partner." Mr. Sandusky said to the class. He glared over at Matt, Jerry, and Bennett, who were all huddled together as usual. "Partners, boys. Not groups." he said sternly. The class anxiously ran over to one another, linking arms, grabbing eachother, and sitting down. Everyone quickly sat down with their partners... Except for Valerie and Harry. Valerie was the quiet new girl. She sat alone in the back and stared blankly at Harry. Harry was the gorgeous boy that every girl drooled over.... But he was quiet. He didn't talk to anyone, except his foster siblings. Harry shifted uncomfortably.
"Mr. Sandusky..." he began. Mr. Sandusky raised his hand to stop him from talking.
"Mr. Styles... Partner?" he said warningly. Harry suddenly got very tense. He looked at Valerie, who was smiling slightly at him, and then he snapped his head away.
"I'm by myself." he said clearly. A bubbly brunette girl, who was partnered with some jock, piped up.
"I'll be with you!" she said, getting up from her chair. Her partner knitted his eyebrows together, looking confused.
"No need, Ms. Wetherby. Valerie is still available. Sit, Mr. Styles." said Mr. Sandusky, narrowing his eyes at Harry. Harry gave his curls a quick brush through, and he sat down stiffly next to Valerie. Valerie looked at him, confused. Why didn't he want to sit with me? thought Valerie. Harry avoided eye contact the whole time. He stared straight ahead, but not at the teacher. He seemed to be staring at nothing, but he wouldn't move his eyes. "Begin." Mr. Sandusky ordered. Almost immediately, everyone started jabbering about the project with their partner, while Valerie and Harry sat in awkward silence.
"W-we could work on it at my house." suggested Valerie, stammering. Harry didn't look at her before saying.
"No." Valerie's palms suddenly got very sweaty. She looked at him nervously and suggested,
"Or we could go somewhere.... Library?" Harry didn't look at her, but said,
"Just let me do it, and I'll put your name on it." It sounded like more of an order than a suggestion. Valerie got very tense in her seat as she took a good look at him; He was a rather good looking chap, with lots of curls and snow-white skin.
"That's not fair.... I can help." Harry slammed his hand down on the table, which attracted a few eyes.
"Leave it." he said, pronouncing each word carefully, as if speaking to someone who didn't understand English. Valerie's face heated up. She looked down and mumbled,
"Fine." It seemed as if she was saved by the bell. The shrill noise was amplified through the speakers, and everyone filed out. Valerie gave one last look at Harry, who was making an effort to look anywhere but at her. Valerie went to her next class, silently, refusing to speak to anyone.

"Hey hey hey," sounded Brian- the first person she had talked to when she stepped foot in Brooks High for the first time. "What's up with you?" said Brian, taking notice in her lost expression.
