Just Like Zach

Vanessa's POV 

I woke up as the sun was suddenly engulfing my room.

"Dude talk." Says Christina shaking me. When I open my eyes I see Val opened the curtain in my room.

"Guys let me sleep." I say trying to lie back down but Val and Christina pick me back up. 

"Okay what do you want?"

"WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT?" 

"Really? That's why I can't sleep right now." I say a little annoyed. They just stand there waiting for me to fill them in. I give in tell them how I told him why I wouldn't date him and he kept me company for a bit. He told me that he respected that and hoped that we could at least be really good friends. 

"You friend zoned him?" Asks Christina.

"I wouldn't say I friend zoned him." I respond. 

"But that's exactly what you did." Adds Val.

"Guys I told him that I didn't want to date because I was hurt by Blake. He respects that. He respects my decision. And he wants to be there for me in the friendly manner I'm okay with." I answer in defense for myself. 

"Do you know why he was drawn to you from the moment you got here?" Asks Christina.

I shrug my shoulders. I just want this conversation to end. 

"I've been telling him about you for awhile. You know what happened to Zach. I thought you guys would be good for each other."

I sigh. I do know what happened with Zach.

His long time girlfriend Brooklyn Smith had broken up after he found out that she had been cheating on him for most of the time Zach was dating her. He was pretty heart broken. Blake hurt me in a similar way. But there's a difference. People told me he was a fuckboy. No one knew that Brooke would do that to Zach. 

"Thank you for trying to help but I don't need it. I love you Christina but I don't want to date. I feel bad that Zach had to go through that and I see where your coming from but no. Blake-"

"Is history! Okay. Vanessa. Don't let Blake hold you back rom the rest of your life." Cuts in Val. 

She has a point. But I don't want to let her know that. I decide I'm done with the conversation and walk out of the house. 

I have no idea where to go so I head to the only place I can think to go. 

Corbyn opens the door after I ring the bell to his house. I probably woke him up. Whoops.

"Vanessa? What are you doing here? It's too early." Says Corbyn followed by a yawn. 

"Can I come in? I don't want to be at my place right now." 

"Come on in." He says. 

I walk in and plop myself on the couch in the living room.

Jack walks into the room all groggy but notices me.

"Oh hey." He says.

"Hi." I say.

"Zach! Vanessa's here!" Shouts Jack and then winks at me. I glare at Jack. 

Zach is here and his bandmates are probably in on this too. How stupid am I? 

Zach walks in rubbing his eyes. He is shirtless with black sweat pants on. His hair is a mess. He clearly just got up.

"Dude shut up. She is n-Oh."

That's when he sees me. 

"Hey." I say trying to make things less awkward.

"You're here. Like Jack said. Uhh Hi. Why are you here? Now?" He is clearly surprised.

"I don't really wanna be at my place right now so I just decided to come over."

"Pretty spontaneous decision huh?"

I tilt my head confused as to what he is saying. Then I remember. Christina and Val woke me up and I never got out of my pajamas. I came over in my pajamas. Real classy of me. It's not that bad though. It's a white tank top and some black pajama shorts. 

"It's a new trend." Is all I say. He laughs. 

"Well Uhh I'm gonna go do my hair and uhhh yea."

I just nod and sit there.

"Wow. You are really some crazy now aren't you?" Says Corbyn leaving the room and going back to bed. I forgot he was here. 

"Uhh wanna come chill in my room so you're not alone out here?" 

"Sure." I say getting up to follow him.

This is gonna be a long morning.
