It's been a week since that night. A week since I've had my first kiss. I'm still shocked that I kissed him. What was I thinking?! I've gone out of control. Completely out of control. Mother and Father would be so disappointed in me.

I stop. Louis is right. I am just like all the others. No matter how much I want to be different, the truth is I'm exactly like them. I sigh heavily at the thought. I don't want to be like them all though. It's such a drag. It's so boring and hard sometimes.

I don't know what has changed my mind, but I don't like the person I am. My life is all fake. My thoughts, my clothes choice, everything, isn't real. I can't make my own decisions without putting someone else's thoughts first. I always have to make everyone else happy.

I don't even know why I kissed Louis. I know absolutely nothing about kissing. So why would I do it to someone I don't even know, let alone like?

I am honestly loosing my mind. What the heck is going on with me?! To top it off, I have to go out with Liam Payne. I mean he's sweet and I think he's pretty cool. I just don't want to get into a relationship with him. I don't want to be tied down even more than I already am. I don't want another person to tell me what to do. I don't want to worry about what another person thinks of me.

I don't want to pretend anymore. If bum with Liam I'll have to pretend 24/7. I don't want that. I can't do that. I'm already going insane as it is. Being forced into this relationship is going to make me even crazier. How will I ever pull this off? There's no way I can explain any of this to Liam. He's one of them.

Oh God. Now I'm sounding like Louis. Seriously, I need some professional help. Honestly, I blame my parents. If they weren't making me be someone who I'm not then I wouldn't have to worry about all this. I could be myself and be with whoever I'd like and not care about what others thought. But unfortunately I have to worry. I can't be myself or be with who I want.

Liam asked my parents yesterday. Our first date is today. I'm nervous. I might make a mistake and shame my parents. Then I'd become shunned. And that would absolutely destroy my family's reputation. I don't want to be one of the shunned children.

I've seen those kids before. They aren't allowed near any of us. Their parents act as if they weren't alive. Sure, some still live at home. Most get a place of their own but some can't. Either because of their age or because they're just too lazy to do any work.

The kids that get shunned aren't "worthy" of being apart of our social class. The kids with parents as important as mine like to make fun of the shunned. It's stupid, but apparently the snobs like it.

I've seen a girl at school before. She's one of the shunned. She has black hair, pale skin, and grey eyes. She's really pretty. I don't remember her last name, but I'm pretty sure her first name is Lia. She doesn't act like me or anyone in the "higher class" so her parents shunned her. Lia hangs out with a girl named Danielle. Danielle isn't shunned because her parents aren't of the high class.

I've watched them before (as stalkerish as that sounds). I actually envy them now that I think about it. They don't have to worry about what others think of them. They can be whoever they want and it's okay.

I shake my head. I'm loosing my line of thought. I have to figure out what to wear. This isn't going to be fun whatsoever.

---------------------------------------------

I ended up choosing a purple dress, black flats, and a black cardigan. I curled my hair and put on a couple pieces of jewellery. I check to make sure that my parents will agree to my clothing choice. It's long enough, it doesn't show too much skin, and it's uncomfortable. Yep, perfect.

There's a knock on my front door. My father answers it as I'm in the kitchen getting some water. I'm nervous. I don't want to mess this up. Liam seems to have a good relationship with my dad. If I do something wrong he could tell. Perfect. That's what I must be. I can't mess up.

"Oh, hello Liam. How are you son?" Father's voice booms when he opens the door.

"Hello, sir. I'm well, how are you?" Liam replies with perfect politeness.

"Doing just fine, thank you. Please, come in. Zoey is just in the kitchen there," Dad says nicely.

I walk out of the kitchen into the living room. Liam is in a nice suit, similar to the one he wore when we met. He smiles brightly when he sees me. Father offers a small smile of approval. Mum nods at me on the couch. I don't even know where Amelia is.

"Hello, Zoey. You look wonderful!" Liam beams.

I blush and smile. "Hello. Thank you, Liam. You look dashing as well," I say. He grins and takes my hand in his. Slowly he presses his lips to the top of my hand.

The epitome of a perfect gentleman. After we say goodbye to my parents, Liam walks me to his car. He even opens the door and helps me in. We drive away in silence for a few minutes. Finally, he breaks the quietness,

"Zoey, there's something I need to tell you. I need you to promise to not tell another soul. Please, you have to promise," Liam pleads with me.

I'm too startled to say anything at first. I recover and say, "Of course I promise. Your secret is always safe with me. You can tell me anything," I say and mean it. I may not be into Liam in that way but he is a nice friend.

Liam sighs and relaxes a bit. "Okay. And will you promise to not freak out or judge or something?" he asks a little shyly.

"I promise," I assure him.

"You know my sister, L-" he starts but I cut him off.

"Wait. You have a sister?" I ask, surprised.

"Yes. Her name is Lia. She's my twin. Maybe you've seen her around campus? She has black hair, grey eyes, she hangs out with Danielle Peazer?"

"Lia? Yeah, I've seen her around. You're her brother?"

"Yes. The main reason why you probably didn't know is she's one of the 'shunned'. Please, don't freak out and don't judge. She's not like you, which I'm sorry to say is a good thing. Lia isn't afraid if being who she wants to be."

"I'm not going to judge or freak out. I envy her and Danielle," I say without thought. I clamp my hand over my mouth. "I'm sorry. I'm not supposed to say that."

"It's okay. I won't tell on you. I just didn't think you wanted to be different," Liam says.

"I know. I didn't know until a few days ago either."

Liam drives into a parking lot. It isn't a restaurant or anything. I'm confused as Liam lets me out of the car. He walks me up to the house. "There's someone I want you to meet," he says.

I nod as he knocks on the door. A pretty girl with curly hair opens it. A huge smile comes across her face when she sees Liam. He she squeals and gives him a huge hug. Wait a minute. I know this girl...

"Zoey," Liam says, interrupting my thoughts. "I'd like you to meet Danielle. My girlfriend."
