From Marine To Pirate (One Piece Fanfic)

Chapter Six

"They changed their minds rather quickly. Do you think it was only because they knew they couldn't fight the boys?" Nanami questioned starred up at Nami and Vivi as they rode of Eyelash as she walked beside them.

"It could be but that change doesn't happen with their backs in the corner." Vivi said making the pirate lord hum.

"Their souls looked a bit tasty."

"How can you eat souls? Sounds gross." Nami made a face.

"Trust me, I thought the same like you but it turns out it tastes like food normal people would eat."

"Is that why you eat souls?"

"Normally. But taking the soul out of ones body cause enormous amount of pain. I devour souls because I mostly survive on them."

"In the group, who's souls would you eat?v Nami asked.

"Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Ace's souls." Nanami replied with a smile.

"That quickly!?" Usopp and Chopper shouted.

"Hey! Wait a minute! What about my soul?" Usopp asked.

"Not interested."

"So mean..." Usopp said dejectedly as he pocked at the sand.

"What about mine, Nana?" Chopper spoke up.

"Your soul is pure which has a sweet taste like candy. It's like a child's soul, really." Nanami told the small doctor.

"Nana, come here." Ace called out for the blue eyed female. Nanami slightly tilted her head to the side before walking towards him. The group noticed just how close both Nanami and Ace have been since their encounter back on the ship.

"Think you can find him from here?" The freckled man asked. They came to a stop as the group kept walking. Nanami clised her eyes taking a deep breath then exhaled.

The sand beneath her feet start to ripple, sweat started to form on her forehead, her breathing became ragged.

"Nana, that's enough. You can stop." Nanami's eyes snapped open, her breathing slowly became steady as she fell into Ace's arms.

"H-he isn't h-here..." She gasped out. Ace scooped the pirate lord in his arms as he quickly rushed after the group.

"Hey! You guys!" The group ahead came to a stop to look behind them to find Ace running towards the group carrying Nanami in his arms.

"What happened?!" Nami asked seeing how pale the white haired pirate is.

"What's wrong with her!? Chopper! We need you!" Usopp cried. Chopper was quickly on his feet running tow the two pirates, Ace kneels down, placing Nanami on the sandy ground as she leans up against him.

"She'll be fine after a bit of rest." Chopper said after he was finished checking up on her.

"Can you tell us what happened?" Vivi asked.

"It was my fault. I asked her to look for him and she used one of the many Devil Fruit powers that she hasn't yet controlled." Ace told. Nanami opened her eyes, her vision was blurred.

"Nana, how are you feeling?" A voice asked. Nanami frowned her eyebrows trying to place the voice.

"Wha- who is that?" This question worried the whole group.

"It's Vivi. Are you feeling okay?"

"Y-yeah, just sleepy..." With that Nanami fell asleep her head falling limp against Ace's shoulder.

"There's a group of rocks not far from here. We'll be able to reach it before sunset. We'll camp there for the night." Vivi explained.

"Let's get going!" Luffy laughed as he stared running off.
