Primrose Everdeen. Everyone knows who that name belongs to. If you would ask an elder if they knew Primrose Everdeen, they would explain her as a kind child of her age group. A smart girl who cares too much of others, and not enough of herself. If you ask a teacher, they would say she has potential, that one day all her dreams would come true. If you ask a child, they would say she helped them when they were in need, or sick, or hurt. Ask a few fellow teenager or adult, they would say she is the sister of Katniss Everdeen, the girl who practically saved District Twelve when everyone was starving. Everyone loved Primrose Everdeen, except, Primrose Everdeen.

She became an orphan at the age of five, her older sister, Katniss Everdeen, ten. The memory was a blur, but she remembered her parents being murdered. Katniss has yet to know, and will never know. Katniss would go mental if Prim had that kind of thought in her mind, but Prim knew, she was picked on at school because she had no parents, only a freak show of a sister left, they say. Because she lives so poorly. Because no one loves her. Those words had traveled to her mind and twisted her world at a young age, engraved into her head always hearing it and making her want to scream. Why did this happen to such a sweet, young child? What did she do to deserve this treatment and torture? Katniss had tried her best to raise a five year old, and she accomplished it. Yet, the world had ruined the guard to Prim's mind, to her heart.

She was always one to keep secrets tight to herself. She was good at that, but sometimes, secrets are released themselves.

Rory Hawthorne. A sweet boy, same age as Prim, same class, same everything really. They were the same height, nowadays, Rory had gotten taller by far; they liked the same things. Everyone had the same words for them, they were always put together in class for projects, but Prim never really noticed Rory until she was ten. She had started asking Katniss and Madge about boys, and she got answers, mostly from Madge. Prim began to wonder herself, what is love? Her parents were in love, so deeply in love they would die to protect each other, so why couldn't she find it too?

Prim began to babysit a little girl named Posy Hawthorne. Prim had began to love this little girl like her own sister. Posy's mother had started working a job in the Hob, Twelve's most illegal black market. Prim had no home, so she had to go to Posy's house. She picked her up from her school once Prim got out, and walked her home along with Rory and Vick Hawthorne, the third youngest Hawthorne, youngest Hawthorne boy. Her feelings for this Rory boy were growing everyday she spent with him. Rory was growing the same feelings. Vick and Posy could see, even for their young ages at the time.

Rory and Prim were eleven, almost twelve. Vick was eight. And baby Posy was five. Katniss was sixteen then, almost seventeen. She had learned much about the Rory boy who Prim babysat along with his sister. She allowed Prim to study with this boy every Tuesday and Wednesday, but it became a daily thing for them. Even on weekends.

The conclusion is, Prim and Rory began dating.

Katniss approved, and Hazzelle, mother Hawthrone, allowed it.

Prim and Rory would travel up into the illegal forest before Katniss would hunt to have occasional dates on weekends. Katniss did not supervise, but she was around to protect them from the dangers of the woods. And to hunt, it was a good paying job for a sixteen year old. To trade her meat for coins, food, or supplies needed.

Prim had started gaining problems at school. A few boys began picking on her because of how pale she was, or how skinny she is. She hadn't yet grown into her body, Katniss told her when she asked why she was skinny. She also didn't have the Everdeen curves yet. They told her she was ugly, that everyone lied about how beautiful she was. That her name was stupid, why would anyone name their daughter after a flower? They pushed her around, and began to bully her. Even the girls started doing the same thing to her. Because Katniss was older than Prim by five years, she was in a school for older teenagers. But Rory was in her same grade class, and every class she took. He walked with her to every class and lunch, always protecting her. He yelled at the boys and girls that told her something, he pushed the boys away who hurt her. He threatened them to come near her again, and they hesitated to even look at her. They knew what Rory's brother was, and what Rory was becoming. So, they didn't mess with him. But they did mess with Prim, still. Even though, Rory told Prim how wrong they were, the words were engraved in her head, behind her eyes every waking second, being read to her every minute of the day. The whispers she heard about her, how awful her life had gotten in that year. Everyone had loved her, but apparently, she was too perfect.
