Lelani's POV
"Bitch what the fuck goin' on?!" I heard myself scream into the darkness. I had no damn idea where the hell I was, and the last thing I remembered was hearing some dumb niggas ask some dumbass questions. Suddenly, a bright flash of light had been shun into my face, and i used a shaky hand to cover my eyes so it wasn't as bright. Squinting, I managed to peek through the beam of light to see a tall silhouette walking over to me.
"Chop I swear to god if yo fatass don't stop playin' wit me.." I said, already knowing it had to be him. But as soon as the person's face came into view I froze.
"Daddy?" I breathed, my heart pounding at an accelerating rate. He was no longer a silhouette and now i was able to see his entire form. He looked the exact same; wearing some Nike sweats, a plain white tee, his Jordan 23's and his gold chain. My pops was a good looking man- he was on the heavy side but not as fat as Lester by ANY means. He was tall which also outweighed it and evened him out, Lester's fat ass was like 4'11 and pushing 300 pounds so you know that nigga was born to struggle. He smiled down at me and i grinned back, running over to hug him. He lifted me, twirling and spinning me into the air which caused tears to spring to my eyes. It had been literally years since i felt his touch, or even remembered how he looked. We were twins; we both had the smartass mouth, the straight nose, the almond shaped eyes and we carried the Cherokee Indian line which all began with my great-great grandmother.
"Damn stink, you done grown into a big ass yun' lady, huh?" He laughed and i laughed and nodded with tears running down my cheeks. Just hearing his voice alone was enough to bring me into hysterics. He brought both of his thumbs to wipe at my tears, leaning down to press a kiss to my forehead. I leaned into his touch and hiccuped, ugly crying as he pulled away.
"Daddy, am i dead?" I asked and he gave me a look.
"Hell naw, you really think i ain' up here doin' my job in protectin' you huh?" He said and i felt my heart warm a little. I smiled and shrugged shyly.
"You ain' dead, but you will be if you continue allowin ya moms to put her hands on you like that. Now, listen here Lelani- and you listen well. Now, i know for a damn fact when me and ya moms lied up in that bed and made you-" He started but i gagged and cut him off.
"Ew, get to the point!" I said childishly, and he shook his head with a smile.
"As i was saying, I know for a fact that when you were born you were made for greatness. If you got a goal- strive for it. Do not let ANYBODY in this world tell you that you not gon' make it, you hear me lil girl? NOBODY!" He spoke, squeezing my shoulders firmly. I nodded and he kissed my forehead again before spinning me around so i was now facing a wooden door. I gulped. I didn't wanna leave him.
"Daddy no.. I don't wanna leave you." I turned back around into his arms, tears running back down my face again. He sighed.
"I know baby, I know. Ima always be with you though, you know that. I'll be here watching you and that lil long neck ass nigga you got down there." He said and my jaw dropped. How did this nigga... You know what.. I smiled at him innocently before running towards the door and opening it. I didn't wanna get my ass beat in the afterlife... heaven.. wherever the hell that just was. As soon as i opened the door, i jumped out of unconsciousness, gasping as I realized i was back in the hospital bed. I looked down onto myself, seeing I was in them ugly ass granny gowns and almost groaned. Was all that a dream or did it actually happen? I frowned, not even having time to think to myself before the door to my room busted open, and in came Yana, Nancy, Durk, Keith, Keith's daughter Kay-Kay, Gino, Hero, Ari, Tadoe, Ballout, Chop and last but not least, the Grim Reaper himself, Tavares.
