Later that evening, and the events from earlier were spinning around Soyeon's head, Yoongi's words playing over and over.
'Hoseok did nothing wrong.' 'Why don't you meet up with him?' She was, of course, quite reluctant to agree to what her brother had suggested, since she still doubted that Hoseok knew nothing about the situation he led her into, but at the same time she still wanted to believe his words, she still wanted to believe that Jung Hoseok was on her side, still her best friend.Another thing was on her mind, too. That phone number. The phone number, written on some paper found at the bottom of her shopping, that she was almost certain came from the man Kim Namjoon. Soyeon had pondered this same question from she second she read it- should she text it? She stared at her phone. Who would answer, if anyone at all? Secretly, Soyeon hoped that it would be Namjoon, but she would never admit that to anyone, ever. She was curious of who would text back, as well as who even put it there in the first place. She wanted, needed to know something about this number.
'Enough messing about. Just do something!' Grabbing her phone, Soyeon looked at the piece of crumpled up paper. 'Just save it. Save it..and maybe text it.' She entered the number in her phone, saving the contact as 'who???' and chucked it onto the empty space on the sofa. She sat there just looking at the device, not satisfied with her actions, still curious. Moments passed. 'Okay, fine, I'll text it.' she thought as she hurriedly grabbed her phone once again.
Me:
Hello? I seem to have been given your number - who are you?She paused before pressing send. 'Maybe it sounds too much.. I'll just stick to something shorter.'
Me:
Hello? Who is this?A little happier with her message, Soyeon pressed send. 'Oh god what if they think I'm some creep..what if they think I'm prank texting them? I don't want to get into trouble..' Deciding to distract herself from her phone, she left the device on the sofa and got up, shuffling her way slowly upstairs, into her room where her brother's cat usually slept. The cat, however, was not sleeping, but sitting on the window sill and staring out the window - something she rarely did.
"Katie, what are you doing, get down from there..." Soyeon said to the Calico cat. Katie did not seem to want to budge though, meowing as she stayed exactly where she was. "What, is there something outside?" Soyeon questioned, kneeling on her bed to part the curtains, but as she expected, nothing out of the ordinary was there. Katie meowed again. "What, what is it sweetie? There's nothing outside hun.." Soyeon picked up the feline and placed her on her lap, and Katie snuggled up to the newly found warmth. Smiling, Soyeon stroked her gently, feeling nothing but love for the animal in front of her, and soon enough, the pair of them had drifted off into a 'short' nap, for the rest of the evening.
It was 22:21, and Soyeon was waking up from her little nap, Katie still lying on top of her. She checked the clock and sat up, realising how late it had gotten - she had done pretty much nothing productive all day and had completely forgotten to eat anything at all, even her cornflakes from the morning had gone all soggy by the time it took her to get to them. She realised that she also needed to go to speak to her parents, but then a thought cropped up.
'Won't Namjoon be there on the roof?'She felt a little nervous of seeing the man face-to-face, although she was unsure of why that would be - she had, after all, only first spoken to him last night, one day ago, and before that she knew he was there every night anyway.
So much had happened since then, but most importantly in that time she hadn't eaten a full meal; her stomach seemed to have realised this and made the most awful loud noise, taking Katie by surprise, as she jumped out of her lap to escape the monster-like sound.
