3.MILK

Ping!

Soyeon's phone made the notification sound in her pocket, and she debated whether to check it straight away or to go into the kitchen to get some food - her stomach seemed to choose for her, however, as it made a rather loud growling noise. Amused with it, she went straight into kitchen, checking the time on the clock, and to her surprise it was still quite early - only 07:13 - but she was hungry, so she grabbed a bowl and poured herself some cornflakes, went to the fridge and got the milk.

"Ah.." she looked at the date on the milk, it had gone off over a week ago. Taking of the lid, Soyeon sniffed the presumably out of date milk and yep, it smelt disgusting. There was no way she was putting that on her poor cornflakes. She opened up the fridge again, then the freezer, but there was no milk in sight.
"Dammit, now what?!" She remarked. Weighing out her options, Soyeon decided that it would be best to go to the supermarket to buy some milk, and whilst she was there she might even find something else to eat.

Grabbing her coat, she made her way back to the door, but not before she was stopped by her one true love; her brother's cat, Katie. Katie was a Calico cat, with black and orange spots all over her white coat. Noticeably, she had a black patch over her eye, and an orange heart on her tummy. She was gorgeous. She was the sweetest, most adorable thing ever and Soyeon would do anything for that cat. However, Katie was not hers, but her brother's, so she wouldn't do anything incase he got annoyed with her. The only thing she could do was pet her and feed her, and take her out for walks if she wanted, although she barely ever did that as Katie was pretty lazy most of the time.

Soyeon walked over to the cat, kneeling down and petting her soft coat.
"I'm going to go and get some milk, okay Katie? I know you miss your owner Yoongi, but he's away at the moment doing..well I'm not sure but I do know that he is very busy and that's why he left you with me. I'll feed you when I get back okay?" She smiled at her favourite cat, and Katie meowed back, as if she understood everything she just said - of course she didn't though, she was just a cat. Standing back up, Soyeon made her way back to the door and exited her apartment, locking the door behind her.

Since the supermarket was only down the road from where she lived, she quickly arrived there, and then the tense, courageous hunt for milk began. As she walked down the aisles, Soyeon kept seeing so many tasty looking items that she would love to buy - food, obviously - and that was why coming here was so damn hard; she had to resist the temptation to buy everything she laid her eyes on! After a while of preventing herself from doing just that, she got to the milk, and shoved 3 one litre containers into her basket.
"Woah..that's actually quite heavy." She mumbled as she continued examining the other drinks.
"It's heavy? Would you like me to help?" A familiar voice spoke out from behind her. She turned around.

"Taehyung...?" Her ex-boyfriend was standing right in front of her, asking if she needed help carrying some milk. Wonders never cease.
"Min Soyeon!! It's been a while, right? How have you been? You should be at university now right?? What are you doing? Do you need me t—"
"Hi, Taehyung, I didn't expect to see you here! Yes, it has been a while and yes, I am at uni. I'm studying foreign languages and it's really interesting actually. How have you been?" Soyeon interpreted her chatty friend - they were still friends, despite having broken up - and she went back to looking at the drinks.
"Looking for this?" Taehyung handed her a small glass bottle of iced coffee, knowing full well it was her favourite.
"Oh wow, thank you!" She exclaimed, smiling brightly at him. "Did you remem..."

Soyeon stopped, catching a glimpse of someone along another aisle, browsing the stationary. She stared at the person, and she swore she recognised that figure; good, tall body. Long legs, perfectly styled hair.. He was very attractive. She kept staring, waiting for the name to hit her. It was the guy from earlier, that much she remembered, but what was his name again? Soyeon tried so hard to think but it just would not appear in her brain, no matter how hard she thought.
'Curse this terrible memory..' she thought, getting annoyed and feeling quite bad that she could have forgotten the man's name so soon.

He looked up. Their gazes met. His eyes widened as he noticed she was at the same shop as him and he immediately broke into the happiest, cutest smile she had ever seen, with the biggest dimples.
'The dimples...the dimples! Kim Namjoon.' It hit her at this moment his name, yes, but also that she was still, still, staring at him, and he had very much noticed by now. She could feel her entire face heat up from embarrassment as she immediately looked away, back at—

"Soyeon, what are you looking at?" Kim Taehyung spoke to her, bringing her back to reality.
"W-what? I wasn't looking at anything! I guess I just zoned out for a second.." she lied.
"You were 'zoning out' for like three minutes, kid." He gave her a funny look, which she returned with a disgusted one.
"Do not call me kid. I am 21 years old, only a year younger than you. If I'm a kid then so are..well you do act like a kid most of the time, that was a bad example, but you get my point. I'm not a child." Soyeon told him, visibly annoyed by his words.
"Alright, I'm sorry I'm sorry.." She glanced back over to the stationary section, disappointed when she could no longer see Namjoon.
"I said I'm sorry, what more do you want? Me to pay for you again??" Taehyung said as he noticed she looked so disappointed.
"What? No, no it's fine I can pa—"

"I'll pay." A voice said from behind her. Taehyung's eyes widened so much as he saw who the voice belonged to.
"Is that..K-Kim Namjoon?! Like..the reaaalllly rich son of the CEO of that company, uh.. I forget the name..." Soyeon span around so fast as soon she heard the voice, and almost bumped straight into him. There he was. Again. 'Is he a real stalker..?' She thought as she recalled the fact that he would watch her every night on the roof. 'I mean, it is pretty creepy but I wouldn't mind being stalked by him..' her mind started to wonder in places she never thought she could reach, but those thoughts were soon stopped as Namjoon spoke.

"Pear." He sighed. "Stupid name for a stupid company. Everything's so expensive these days only rich people can afford them, I mean really, who would pay that much for a damn phone..." Namjoon realised that he basically just trashed his own Father's company, and his facial expression clearly showed that. "Um..I..please forget I said that, I don't want people to think badly of me or the company." Taehyung nodded, understanding the consequences of what would happen if word of the CEO's own son talking bad about their company spread, but Soyeon just stood there in shock. Namjoon raised an eyebrow, amused at her reaction.
"U-uh... Y-you're the CEO of Pear's..son? I..I had no idea.." Her voice trailed off as she realised how stupid she sounded.
"You mean you didn't know that, Soyeon? I'm shocked, I thought you were supposed to be smart. Literally everyone knows about him!" Taehyung told her.
"But then, why aren't there loads of people here, if he's so famous and popular?" He paused, stumped at her question. Namjoon smiled at her.
"Because I asked them to keep away from me. With great power, comes more great power."
"That is not the saying," Soyeon started, "plus there's no way every single person would go out of their way to avoid you, especially if they happened to see you."
"What I said is true. I also said that I'll pay for your drinks, Soyeon, so," he took the basket off her, "I'll buy these and wait outside for you, and I'll wait until you're done talking to your friend." Namjoon said, and walked off to pay for her stuff.

Taehyung gave her the most jealous and confused look she'd ever seen in all her time knowing him.
"You..what..when.." he was clearly at a loss for words - no wonder, one of the richest people in the world just walked off with his ex-girlfriend's shopping, to pay for it. Soyeon, of course, was just as shocked as he was, and just gave him an amazed look, and walked off to meet Namjoon outside.

All this for some damn milk...
