That day, you just needed someone to kiss.

I just happened to be there and needed someone to pour my overflowing lust into.

Everyone thought we had good chemistry, how ignorant they were with how lust had many disguises.

They thought that because of how our characters seemed to come to life even off set. I'd stare at you more intensely than anyone else, and you'd make small glances at my lips. They just didn't know what lust looked like.

No, I wasn't dying to rip your clothes off, I lusted for the thought that you were dying to rip mine.

No, you weren't dying to press your lips to mine, you were dying for me to kiss you.

It's odd how our lust works, we crave the other, but want the other to act first. You were waiting and so was I.

Everyone thought it was about denying feelings, no, it was two starving animals circling each other.

Then the day came, when we both decided to go for our prey, before someone else does.

Right as I was about to call you over to my place, you showed up at my front door.

I tried to act innocent, as if this wasn't what I wanted to happen and you acted the same, like you just wanted to hang out.

"Hey," I said, my phone still in my hand, your contact name on the screen.

You noticed, you stared at it deliberately, and I turned the screen off. Then, you acted as though you hadn't seen it at all, wanting this game to seem all innocent and that the events that were going to unfold, were purely by chance.

"Hey," you said back. Your hair clinging to your face thanks to the drizzle of rain falling outside. The bright gray sky proved that the rain was lighting up.

"What can I help you with," I said, trying to play off this meeting, while also keeping you out in the rain a little longer, hoping the smell clung to you. Unfortunately, your hair and face seemed all that would get wet.

"Thought I'd drop by, we don't ever hang out," you reply.

You're right, we don't, unless we have to. Yet, not hanging out previously made this random popping-by-to-say-hi even more innocent in way. So I smile, because the excuse was fitting, a lot more fitting than what I was going to call for. Want to fuck? Of course I'm that blunt, we've been playing this game for far too long now, I'm becoming desperate. So were you.

"Okay," I said, "want to come in?"

"Yes."

I open the door a little wider, slowly, trying to make you stay in the rain a little longer, but once it was open far enough, you walked in.

I closed it softly, and locked it.

I turned when I heard you sigh and saw you struggling to get your jacket off. So I helped you, I gather up your things and sit them beside the door and make sure you see it, because if things go wrong, I don't want you forgetting something and have to arrange an awkward meet up.

Once I put your jacket on the coatrack and I looked at you, we stared at each other. You were standing close to me, your purse and shoes by my feet. Your hair dripping water on the tile floor of the foyer. Your breath tickling my lips and your eyes glancing at them then back up to see I'm staring at you. Waiting, and you're waiting. Neither of us wanting to make a move and dare the other to do it. I licked my lips and you stared at them as my tongue disappeared.

Your hand reached out and gripped mine, and your touch made me realize how aroused I was. I was surprised that the conclusion came to me just as your fingers laced with mine. My heart pounded harder. The tension was rising but neither of us made a move.
