When they came insight of where her family had camped, Marina headed over to her mother and reported what had happened while they were gone while Reina and Jerek handed the food that they caught over to her father.

Marina didn't tell her mother of the Wildfire for her family would probably think of her as crazy.

When she finished of those shadow people her mother had turned from pale to ashen white that she needed help to be seated down.

"The shadow people mean one thing Marina," said her mother when she had fully recovered, "those people date way back before our race was born. After an human and ancient bird person mated, our race was born. But we didn't know about The Shadows until the attacks started coming on. After the first attack, we sought to find a way to stop them until our leader stepped up with his powerful staff and zapped them all until they retreated. Some say that they live in the woods and died off making us think they were legends. But now."

"How come they are alive if you say they died off in the woods," asked Marina.

"We thought they died off until we decided to make up legends about them, making The Shadow people a legend," explained her mother, "Only a few families know the true story about them and your grandmother was one of them."

"Wow, so since Reina, Jerek, and I encountered them, that would mean..."

"That the legends aren't true and The Shadow people are alive and living in this very forest," her mother finished.

Marina looked back toward the forest with the feeling of someone watching them.

She took out her bow and arrow and fired her arrow into the woods.

The shot was true and hit the shadow person, spying on then, in the chest, dead that instant.

Marina went over, along with her mother, to see if she had caught whoever it was spying on them.

She did.

The Shadow person was a boy by the looks of his age, which was no more than 12, and the arrow was stuck in his chest.

Marina pulled the arrow and The Shadow boy disappeared before their very eyes, like he vanished and was never there.

Marina looked at the tip of the arrow and saw some shadowy powers from him when she had plunged her arrow into him.

She handed it over to her mother for her to see about it and her mother took it saying "We shall never speak of this to anyone, not even your father."

Marina nodded her head in agreement.

She headed over to where the rest of her family was and helped out by gathering branches for the fire to help cook dinner that she had caught with help.

Done with that Marina was siting down and a cooked meat on a stick was passed over to her.

It was Mikal who always helps their father out with the cooking.

Marina smiled at her fourth younger brother and ate the delicious food, not even remembering the last time she had eaten meat this perfectly well cooked.

After she had finished eating, Marina saw her twin Mark sitting over there on a log just doing nothing.

She headed over to where he sat and came up quietly behind him and placed her arm around his neck saying only in a whisper "Come quickly with me in the woods, we need to talk."

Mark nodded his head and when Marina took her arm away from him, he got off the log and walked with her to the woods.

When they were well away from the family, Marina turned over to her brother and slapped him lightly on the shoulder yelling (while whispering) "How can you not do anything to help our family!?!?! You do realize that we are being hunted down dead or alive!!"
