"Just because the past didn't turn out like you wanted it to, doesn't mean your future can't be better than you ever imagined."

Another week goes by, but this time it includes Jae and Grace. To say it isn't difficult for you would be lying, but you're surprised to find that even if it hurts a little, you really are okay. Grace is a little wary of you at first, and you can't blame her honestly, but you realize that the two of you have more in common than you think, and you start to genuinely enjoy her company.

At first you weren't sure how they would feel about Wonpil, but after their initial shock, they seem to welcome him whole-heartedly. With a personality that is sincere and friendly, he fit in easily, especially when Jae learned that he was a musician too.

Now you find yourself sitting on the bed in Jae's dorm room, just like old times, studying for your biology GE while he plays around on the guitar. You'd invited Wonpil and Grace, but Wonpil had a shift at his part time job, and Grace was going to a concert with her friends. That was one thing you found funny about her and Jae. Their taste in music was polar opposite. Grace listened to a variety of American pop and R&B, like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, while Jae listened to a broad mixture of things. You asked him once if it bothered him that she didn't like the kind of music he played, but he just shrugged and said they couldn't agree on everything.

Closing your textbook with a sigh, you know it's time for a break. You glance over at Jae to see him working on some new music. Leaning over his shoulder, you ask him what he's doing. It surprises you when he covers it up in a hurry, hastily shoving it into his desk drawer. He's never kept anything he's writing a secret before.

"Oh, it's nothing, just a stupid song. Forget it," he says nervously, scratching the back of his neck.

Shrugging your shoulders, you nod easily and take out your phone. Jae stands up and stretches.

"I'm gonna head to the bathroom. Be right back," he says.

You nod again, still staring at your screen. He's only gone a few minutes when an alarm on his phone starts to ring. He's had a bad sinus infection since last week, so it's probably for the antibiotics he has to take. Turning the alarm off, you walk to his desk, trying to find the medicine so he won't forget to take it. Finding the orange bottle, you set it by his phone where he can't miss it and walk back to your spot on his bed.

As you're walking, something crunches under your feet. Looking down you see a slightly crumpled piece of notebook paper. Glancing over it quickly, you see that it's a rough copy of some lyrics. The title says "When You Love Someone," and you can tell right away it's a love song.

"Ah, it's for Grace," you think, everything suddenly making sense. He was trying to be considerate of your feelings. That's why he didn't want you to see it. You sigh, but the thought warms your heart a little bit. At least Jae still cares about you enough to protect you. Even if he doesn't love you the way you wish he did, you know he will never intentionally cause you pain.

It's been two weeks since you met Wonpil, and tonight he's being mysterious. He wouldn't tell you where you were going when he asked you to meet him at his place. Shaking his car keys, he leads you to his SUV, eyes dancing.

"I think you're really going to like this," he says with a grin.

You can't hold in your excitement when you pull up to a large, gray building. You know this place. It's one of the most popular recording studios near your university. When you're greeted by a pleasant looking man in his forties, you remember that Wonpil once mentioned he has an uncle that works for a music production company. He promised he would take you to see it some time, but you never imagined you should take him seriously. Barely able to contain your excitement, you grab his hand and try not to shriek.
