"Kayla hurry up! You're gonna be late."I heard my mom yell from down the stairs, I think she's more nervous than I am about today. I guess that makes sense considering she's sending her weird psychic kid into a new school filled with other weirdos.
About six years after I was born the mundane world found out about all the supernatural beings that have been roaming the earth.
It was kinda ridiculous actually, our people have been here way before humans ever were, now we just have to deal with the anger they have toward us.
I can't say I'm surprised though, I've never been around anything different than werewolves, Witch and bloodsucking idiots aka vampires.Hate those idiots.
Anyway, I can't image their fragile little minds being turned upside down because they found out people were different from them.
That's the one thing I'll never understand about humans...They're so afraid of change.
"Kayla!" I heard my mom shout again at me. How is it that parents get to yell across the house because they're adults, but I can't because 'I'm a kid'.
"We'll only be ten minutes late!" I shouted back as I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans off my floor and pulled them on.
"You better be right Kay." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my straightener. "When have I ever been wrong about predicting the future?" She let out a little laugh. Usually never but I didn't wanna tell her we are actually gonna be thirty and that when we get to school she's going to step in a puddle.
Ever since I was little I've gotten these vision or thoughts, and somehow they have always become true. According to my mom, I guessed she was pregnant and that she would have my little brother Liam, me nor my parents have any clue why I have these powers, I mean there's really no reason that I should have them. My dads a werewolf and so is my mom.
I've just excepted that I'm a freak kid with freak powers.

When I pulled up to the school, -with my mom in the passenger seat texting my dad- I hastily grabbed my backpack from the back of my car and slung it over my shoulder. I rolled my eyes as my mom got out of the car too. "You do know that I don't need my mom walking me to my first day of school?" She sent me one of her deathly stares.
"It's just I'm already nervous and I don't want to be the weird high schooler whose mom walked them to the first day of school."
"Kayla you've never been to a real school before, I just wanna make sure it will go smoothly." She tried to reassure me. "See that's what I don't understand. I've been homeschool every day of my life and no matter how often I asked to go to a real school you always said no. So, now decide I get to go?"
The wind blew my hair into my face and I sighed in annoyance.
"Because Kayla, not all human are happy about us being around them or their kids. It was safe before, that's why you dad and I built this school so you could have an easier life. So, stop being a whiny bitch and go have a good first day." I let out a small laugh.
I smiled at her then flipped her off, most moms would have probably had a hissy fit that their kid just flipped them off but for my mom and me, it was a sign of affection.
I started to walk away and she got into the driver's seat. "You aren't coming?" I asked, hidden disappointment flashed in my brain, I don't wanna be the kid that needs her mommy but, I am scared of all these new weirdos. "You're right Kay, you don't need me right by your side always. You got this. Kick ass and take names."
"Thanks, mom." I sent her a small lopsided smile and made my way into the prison.
I guess I never really realized how wealth my family was, yes we lived in a mansion and I knew that definitely wasn't a normal way of living but, I've never known anything different.
We have always lived an upper-class life. But when I saw the size of the school, Even I was shocked. It was the size of some of the college campus's that Dad and Me looked at this summer.
All brick building with giant windows and a nicely kept front lawn, flowers planted the perfect distance apart, probably my mothers doing she's always been a little OCD about little things like that.
I pushed open the huge front doors and made my way down the hallway, I side glanced over at the administration office. I guess I wasn't the only one late this morning.
Kids were pilled in trying to get last minute class schedules or to get registered. I would hate to be in that crowded office right now, luckily there are about three people helping out so it doesn't look like such a cluster fuck.
As for me, I was pretty damn lucky not to have to be dealing with all that. I knew the layout of the school pretty well considering it's all my parents have been talking about for the past few months, and I was already registered for obvious reasons.
I started reading off the numbers of the classrooms looking for 227, my first class of the day which is psych, or human behavioral studies. I was watching were I was going since I was so hyperfocused on actually getting to the class before it ended, that I didn't see some girl walking and bumped into her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry I didn't see you there," I said grabbing her chem book off the ground and handing it to her, she didn't get to respond before some dickwad interrupted her.
"It's not okay watch where you're going." He said with hostility. "It was an accident chill out." He grabbed the girls hand and intertwined their fingers, I looked down at there hands and back up at his face and he flashed his sharp teeth at me.
I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be intimidating since he's a werewolf. But, I've grown up around hot-headed Wolves and him flashing his teeth at me just made me laugh. "You think I'm a joke, little girl?"
The fuck did he just call me?
"Look wolf-boy, I suggest you move along with your seemingly nice girlfriend and leave me along. Because If I'm late to class because of this-"
I gestured all around him and his girlfriend's body. "Then I'm going to remove your claws."
He went to take a step forward and his girlfriend grabbed onto his arm and kissed his cheek. His whole body just relaxed he turned toward her and gave her a kiss on the lips, two guys walked by and started talking to the dickwad.
I went to walk away but the girl stopped me.
"Hey look I'm so sorry about that! He just found out we're mates and he is being overly protective. He almost punched some guy today for asking me if I knew where the bathroom was." I let out a small laugh. "He really shouldn't be in school."
"You're probably right," I noticed that she smiles a lot, and she seems to have a bubbly personality. "Anyway I'm Emma, that's Dax. Sorry again for his attitude."
She shuffled away and back toward Dax, once he noticed she was there he pushed her against the lockers and started what looked like, trying to eat her face off. The two friends of Dax that he was talking to rolled their eyes and started walking away, so I did the same thing in the other direction.
Horny teenage wolves.
Puke.
