Things went just the way I wanted them to be. The relationship between me and him was much more than a simple boyfriend and girlfriend relation.
Not saying 'I love you' each day is alright. Little gestures are enough to prove the love between us. When he'll drop me home, he won't move one bit till he sees the lights of my room turned on. His eyes would spark up the darkest of nights. His hugs would warm me in the coldest of days.
"The first time I saw you, I thought you were rude. You didn't talk to me"
"I was amazed by your beauty. Everything else stopped. All I really saw was you." He said tugging the part of my hair behind my ears.
I would smile each day waking up. Something has happened to me. I am no more the same old boring depressed girl, I have much more in life to appreciate.
This relationship was a teacher for me. I have learnt to appreciate things around me. I'm not ignorant anymore. Life is the most beautiful gift I have ever received.
In fact, Love can be the biggest reason why I'm still alive.
Down the months, I made different friends. People I can confide in. Everything seemed beautiful.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Ya, Just.. I'm okay"
"Riya?"
I grabbed his hand and told him about my disease.
"Heart arrhythmia? What's that?"
"A heart disease. Never mind, It's okay."
The next day at school, I found him seated in the library finding out what this heart disease really is. I stood behind him and he sensed it.
"Hey" he said hurriedly. Hiding behind the book.
It made me smile. No one has ever been that thoughtful.
"Riya, you should probably start off with some exercises. You know.. It'll be good for you."
"I'm not very fond of exercises." I said softly, still smiling.
"Oh sure. From tomorrow we'll exercise together."
"Wait..But.."
He covered his ears and murmured "I'm not listening"
"Sigh, Alright"
