Chapter 32: Let The School Days Begin

Sherwin's POV

I sighed. After that final pull from mateo, he manage to fished me out of the crowd and relieved filled me as we literally squeezed our way out. Why are they around the hallway anyway? Did they not get their schedules too? I looked back to my new companion? I just made moments ago.

Mateo, who uncomfortably if I may admit, still had his hand *Nervous gulp* interwhined with mine. Trust me. I was doing all I can to politely pull away but everytime I did that he holds it even firmer.

He had a vice gripped on my hand!!

"Ummm m-mateo?" I mumbled to him. Hopefully he heard that, I saw him looked down at me as we walked down the stairs. He smiled.

"Mhm?" He hummed questionably at me. "C-can...I-i h-have...m-my h-hand b-back?" I asked him in a low voice. Student's with us passed by and gave us an odd look.........Ok, they gave ME the odd look.

I hitched my breathing and slowly tried to hide behind mateo as we were walking straight, and feared that we might collide with what I could only describe as "the pretty girls squad" they looked like the popular ones and they seem to be all the same ages probably senior level like david.

Mateo was looking down at me telling me something, so the chances that he didn't saw them at all, are likely high, and all I could only focused on was the predators that was approaching.

I admit. I thought that the blond that was leading them was ella. So I prepared myself to get chewed on by his sister. But I was wrong. It wasn't her. I was relieved and scared at the same time.

I looked at her. And I gulped.

Even though she was wearing a uniform the way she hold herself and get that thing work well with her. That I know that she knew fashion.

She gave me strange looks but most importantly she looked angry. Furious if you may, before it was concealed with a mask of a happy smile. Which made me shiver.

"Hi!" She said in a cheerful voice but I knew better. Mateo's attentions were on her after abrupting him for whatever he was telling me.

"Oh! Hey, regina haven't seen you in a while! What's up?" He asked her with a big smile. I didn't quite catched her name there. He finally let goes of my hand and the thought of running away seem to be very inviting by the minute as she and mateo kept looking at me as they talked to each other.

"So, how'd you find you're first day here? Enjoying I hoped" she suddenly asked me making me flinch.

"See? Timid little guy, isn't he?" mateo said looking really happy with himself. "I-im f-fine.....t-thanks" I said half-heartedly. I want to escape so bad.

"Cheer up buddy, what's wrong?" He asked me. He seemed to liked touching me as he rest his hand on top of my head.

"N-nothing....." I said lowly looking away from them. I can't take it. With her burning stare and how overwhelming mateo can be is suffocating me.

"You'll be fine. Sweetheart" she added flashing me a smile. Which I can tell was still a fake one. "Sooo.....mateo. Me and my girls wanted to know if you're up for tonight? Devon's party?" She said getting his attention.

They seemed to be sucked in on their topic giving me a breather. "This is my chance" I said to myself.

"H-hey...I-i n-need to g-go n-now. T-thanks f-for t-the help" I said but they seemed to not heard me. Well, I did excused myself soo....

I started to walked away. Looking left and right for jonathan. I occasionally looked back to see if they noticed I'm gone. The regi-whatever her name was the only one noticing, her friends flocked around mateo.
