WHERE I BELONG

After a long time of explaining to King George and Queen Marguerite why I was gone for hours, with a big help from Francis, of course, they let me get back to my chambers, but not with a good scolding. I totally understand, it was all my fault. I caused a huge uproar not just in the palace but also in the whole town. All the servants in the palace were held for questioning, a lot of people in town were scared with all the guards searching each of their houses, all the ships that were bound to sail were held stranded in the docks for inspection. The whole town was in total chaos because they think I was abducted or something.

The perks of being a royal, everybody needs to know where you are all the time. I rolled my eyes at the thought.

The sound of the knocking on my door cut off my thoughts. "Come in," I stated.

"I just came to check if you're alright," Francis said as he entered, "I'm sorry if my parents was a bit harsh back there in the throne room." He closed the door behind him.

"No, I understand, it was all my fault, there is no need for apologies," I said, walking towards him, "and thank you for helping me explain to your parents." I offered him a genuine smile.

"It was nothing Mary, really," he paused for a moment, contemplating what to say next. "You said you were dreaming about us back in the garden, what was your dream all about?"

I didn't want to say anything to him, but he really insisted so I ended up admitting everything anyway. He can be so persuasive sometimes.

"Yeah, I knew the secret garden will make you stop crying," he said, smiling to himself.

"You have always taken care of me back then," I said to him.

"Yes, I did, it was the least I can do. I figured leaving your home to live in a foreign country with foreign people was not easy for you, and you actually have to leave your parents behind too. You were always crying back then, and I can't bear to see it."

"Thank you Francis," I said as I took his hand with mine.

"Will you stop thanking me?" he chuckled, "you don't have to thank me all the time Mary, it's actually my pleasure to do all these things for you."

Without thinking, closed the gap between us, crashing my lips into his. It surprised him at first, but soon enough a smile curled up on his lips and he returned the gesture, deepening the kiss. I was also shocked about what I did but I didn't stop anyway, all I think about is how I missed him so much, I haven't seen him in almost a month, and I haven't been this close to him in what feels like forever. All I did ever since I got here was avoid him, and I never realized how much I miss him 'til now.

I haven't realized how complicated medieval wardrobe can be, I tried taking his clothes off but it was so hard, it took me a while before I got the hang of it. I was just about to unbutton his coat when he stopped me.

"Are you sure about this Mary?" he asked, worried.

Am I sure about this?

Looking at Francis I can't seem to think straight, all I can think about is how much I miss him and how much I want him to kiss me and touch me all over and lay down on the bed beside him and wake up to his beautiful blue eyes staring down at me lovingly.

I can't seem to find the words in my mouth so I just nodded my head in response.

"Tell me when you want me to stop," he said before he started kissing me again.

"Never," I managed to say.

He started to take off my dress, it took him awhile, which totally feels like forever, bloody medieval dress! When my dress was already off, he started to unbutton his clothes next, with a little help from me, all his clothes were also on the floor in no time.

He carried me, never leaving his lips on mine, and slowly placed me on the bed. Soon enough, our bodies move in perfect sync.

"Francis..." I started to chant his name.

A husky moan escaped his lips as I tugged on his hair, making butterflies flutter all around my system. I lost track of time, I didn't care if we stayed up all night because this feels beyond perfect, this is where I belong—in Francis' arms.

"FRANCIS!" a shout escaped my mouth as he nibbled on my earlobe that sends tingles down my spine.

I never knew how noisy in bed I could be, not until now. Of all the guys I have been before, only he can make me go crazy like this.

Francis returned his kisses on my lips, shutting me up. "As much as I love hearing you call out my name, I need you to be a little more quiet love. You know I'm not supposed to be in your bed right now," he said, his voice mixed with lust and concern.

With that, we spend the whole night together entangled with each other.
