WHY I DONT WRITE/READ SMUT

im truly sorry if this offends anyone but i need you all to know where i stand and to get this off my chest because it's been bothering me for a while.

DISCLAIMER. it's very possible you may disagree with me about my opinion but please remember that it's mine and i'm entitled to it. i won't be responding to comments and any rude comments will be deleted

*cracks knuckles*

so without further ado, why i personally don't read or write smut:

1. it flat out makes me uncomfortable. i just personally believe sex is something private between two people and unless i'm actually one of them i have no business writing or reading about it.

2. there are so many young people on this site. i think it's important to keep that in mind when you're writing.

3. i personally think it's disrespectful towards the people you're writing about, especially if it's a character played by someone irl or an actual real life person. like if i was famous i would find it incredibly creepy if people were writing smut about me.

4. i honestly just think there's so much more that's worth writing. when i write a book what excites me is creating dynamic characters and plots. writing about action and adventure etc.

5. i personally consider smut as soft porn. guys, the pornography industry is a BIG deal. it ruins so many lives. there are countless people (including kids) who are actual slaves in this industry. i get that reading smut might not directly link itself to this but in my mind they're too similar for me to deem one okay and the other not.

so i'm not saying that characters in my books will never touch each other or anything. i'm just saying i'm not going to be going into explicit detail about sexual behaviour because i personally don't believe it's right. i think people are allowed to believe what they want about the topic, but that's simply where i stand. (:
