It was a slightly strange concept to Walter, to sit and not do anything. Since he first departed the crew, he had had lots of little tasks to do, even some major tasks; and he had completed them all to the fullest of his abilities. But now, sitting still in Onora's room, her asleep in his lap, for the first real time Walter realised he was without a task to do. He sat silent and still, like some sort of sentinel as she slept peacefully against him. If what she said was true, if her fear for the outside, for the space which would soon, and is now surrounding them, he knew well enough that that could cut into sleep; it could cut into and ruin how she acted in general. Panic, fear, apprehension, anything and everything like that had a way to unsettle the brain. Not that Walter could speak from experience, but he had enough medical knowledge packed into his version of a brain to know.

With a sigh he leaned his head back against the wall and shut his eyes. Honestly, if he sat like this with his eyes shut, he could almost...almost, pretend, if he had the ability for imagination. He could easily sit and almost picture what it would be like, if they were like the other couples. That made Walter open his eyes with a frown now on his face. Like the other couples? Were they like the other couples? Were they still even together? Did either of them even ask the other, isn't that how people initiated relationships? Walter's mind seemed to have started with one thing and gone off on a tangent. The whole point of the original thought was that if he sat still, eyes shut and holding her, he could've quite possibly imagined how content and comfortable it would be to drift off to sleep with her in his arms.

Not that he wasn't content with her in his arms, and him wide awake, or anything. Tilting his head, he looked to the window. Blackness and white pin pricked stars just looked back at him. He could understand her hesitance. There was a great unknown out there, and they were heading straight for it. But whatever the case, Walter would do his utmost to protect her, just like he would with the rest of the crew. They were all, in part, his responsibility.

Walter's head tilted and turned quickly to the door when there was a knock. He frowned and looked downwards, Onora was out for the count, or however the saying went. Her hands still clung to his hooded top, legs curled up and head against his shoulder. She was deeply asleep and he didn't wish to wake her for the sake of answering her door. Not only that, wouldn't it look a bit bizarre? Him opening her door, whoever on the other side expecting Onora, but instead getting him? Walter frowned, when did he seem to care so much? He already presumed on some occasion or another one member of the crew, if not more, had joked at his expense. Not having a real sense of humour, it was and would be lost on Walter. Which really, made him a bit of an easy target.

Walter sighed, he swung his legs over the seat and stood. Onora shifted a little in his arms, not before settling again and getting laid down on her bed. She rolled onto her back and sighed sleepily, Walter looked at her for a few moments before his eyes flicked back to the door. It had been knocked against again, and he walked silently forwards.

Looking to the control pad by the doorframe, Walter reached out and pushed the button. The door slid open with a lifeless swish, Daniels stood on the other side. She was half-turned, clearly she was about to turn and leave, having not got an answer. She looked at Walter with a small smile, he tilted his head to the side and looked down at her with his arms behind his back.

"Walter," Daniels smiled and nodded her head at him gently.

"Daniels," Walter replied back with a similar polite tone.

She sighed and ran a hand through her hair before nodding over his shoulder. "Jake wants to celebrate the official move in," she said with a roll of her eyes. Clearly, that showed how serious she was taking this moment. Her slightly sarcastic tone did little to really make Walter believe that there was anything serious about this moment. "And he left rounding everyone up to me." Daniels shook her head, why he shirked the task to her she didn't know. He had said something about her being able to persuade anyone who decided against it. She didn't quite know what that said about her really, she didn't question it as she commenced knocking on doors.
