❤︎Momoka's POV

Oh no, this is so uncomfortable...

I shift positions in the soft theatre seat and try to avoid looking in Tomomi's direction as much as possible. I had mistakenly taken him with me on a date to see a romantic movie, and it was almost embarrassing how sappy it was. The cheesy words, the dramatic pauses, the kisses.

And boy, were there a lot of them.

"Mommy! I want another candy bar!" Even the shrieking child on the same row as us wasn't enough to break the awkward, excessively lovey-dovey atmosphere in the theatre! This little girl had been screaming about a candy bar since the movie started! Why did people bring their noisy children into a PG-13 romantic film like this?

In the current scene being shown, the young couple had both been debating internally about when they'd have their first kiss. For almost 20 minutes now, they'd been trying to figure out who would make the first move. It was a nagging reminder of how Tomomi and I hadn't quite had our first kiss yet, and it was really unsettling.

It kind of just dawned on me all at once. We'd been dating for 2 months now and hadn't quite made any moves like that... I was definitely too shy to even suggest such a thing, but of course I wanted to. Every time Tomomi and I got close like this, our eyes would lock in this special way. Nothing could break our attention away from each other. I had to hold myself back from wanting to feel his lips against mine.

What if he didn't want to?!

I'd die from embarrassment!

"Momo-chan."

"Yes!" Tomomi's voice snaps me out of my thoughts. When I become aware of my surroundings again, I see the credits rolling and the entire theatre standing up and walking out.

Ah I must look like an idiot!

"Wasn't the movie great?" Tomomi flashes his trillion watt smile and I scream internally. I loved when he smiled. His entire face lit up like a ray of sunshine. And don't get me started on the cute way his lips curled at the corners...

Speaking of lips...

I blush and nod frantically as he offers me his hand. I take it and stand to my feet, dropping my purse and cellphone like a dummy. The contents spill out all over the dark solid floor, scattering like roaches. My business was all over the place now...

I quickly bend down to start snatching and throwing things back into my purse. I could be so clumsy sometimes! How unattractive...

My face feels like a volcano that's about to erupt. I wasn't sure how much more of this I could take! Tomomi bends down to help me, effectively overwhelming me with his scent. As my blush deepens, I hurriedly get my hands to work.

"Is something the matter? You seem a bit distracted..." Tomomi places one of my lip glosses in my open purse. When we place the very last item in my bag, we start to stand up when we're alerted by the sound of the child in the theatre screaming all over again.

"MOMMY I WANT ANOTHER SODA!"

The volume her voice had reached meant she had gotten closer. In fact, she tripped running down the aisle we were on and her leg collided with mine, causing me to stumble forward. I land on top of Tomomi, our bodies sliding against each other as he breaks my fall.

"I'm so sorry! Sweetie, slow down!"

I hear the mother running after her child after quickly apologizing to us, but I was too distracted to care. The fall had caused a rather close proximity between Tomomi and I, bringing our faces so close I could make out every detail of his eyes. He looks just as shocked as I am.

When I realize my lips were pressed against something softly in the midst of the collision, my heart skips a beat. Realization only hits me when I pull away.

Tomomi and my lips had accidentally touched!

"Ah...I'm sorry...I..."

I tried to move off of him and look like I regretted what had happened, but internally I felt really...warm. Tingly, almost. Whatever I felt, it had something to do with happy.

Tomomi beans at me, his eyes lighting back up. I notice the slight flush in his cheeks as she scratches the back of his head shyly, sitting himself up in an upright position. We shyly avoid each other's eyes, sitting there on the cold floor of the theatre. We obviously didn't know what to do next.

People passed us by, weaving in and out of the crowd trying to get out of the theatre.

"That's funny," Tomomi starts, and when I look at him curiously, he looks up and winks at me, "I've been thinking about kissing you for awhile now. I just.."

"...Didn't know if the timing was right?" I let out a sigh of relief, all of my jitters melting into thin air. Suddenly overcome with confidence and happiness, I let out a giggle and pounce back on my boyfriend again. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him quickly, savoring the feeling this time. Tomomi smiles against my lips and kisses me again much more deeply.

We lay in each other's arms on the cold marble floor, disregarding the strange looks we received from others. It was like time was stopping, and we couldn't get enough of each other's kisses!
