SOULMATE TO THE VAMPIRE PRINCE? NO WAY!!!

Chapter 18

It's been a while since "my" blood was injected in Clay's arm. Still no change...

"Maybe we should get more blood into him?" The King suggested. No way! Was he crazy?! I took ENOUGH from Ariel! If that can't help him, then maybe she really isn't his soul.

"Your highness, the blood is more than enough. The infection is too concentrated to be healed so easily. If it doesn't help, then maybe Catherine is not really the prince's soulmate" the herb doctor said. Well, I have to thank him for not requesting more blood even if he spoke out of turn. He is a well respected vampire in these land and a close friend to the King. It would not be nice to be in his bad books.

The room was filled with a bunch of royals guards, two maids, the doctor, Prince Damien of the North, Julian, The King, The Queen and I, all waiting anxiously for the survival of Clay. But only the King, Queen, the doctor and I were allowed to venture close to the bed.

I almost gave up hope when a movement from the bed caught my attention. Clay stirred... the whole room went up in a frenzy. Questions, jubilations and orders filled the air. But my attention was on Clay. How would he react to seeing me again...

Clay's pov

I felt as the needle pierced my skin and refreshing blood flowed through my veins. This was not the normal vampire blood... I have never had blood that tasted this... strong... Not even blood from my father was this strong... it made me feel complete. As if I have waited my whole life for this. My heart received the blood and pumped it all through me. I felt the impurities in my blood fade away... slowly... but definitely. One thought only filled my head. ARIEL...

I knew instantly it was her blood flowing through me. When the poisoned arrow pierced my skin, I knew what it would take (or in this case, who it would take) to get me healed.

And now, to have offered her blood, she must know it too... must have felt the connection only true mates feel those few days. How lonely and scared she must be. She needs me. Just as I need her! With that thought, I broke out of my sleep-like state with enough strength for battle. To meet Ariel... to see my love...

I opened my eyes and scanned the room filled with joyous faces staring back at me, for a moment, I was happy, but just for a moment because the next, I became angry... something was amiss... Ariel was not here... why? Was she hurt? I became scared. "where is she?" I asked. I felt strong but my voice was surprisingly weak.

"here I am" I turned only to see Catherine. What was she doing here? Not just here, but on my bed!!! With her hands on my chest!!! What effrontery!

"get your hands off me!!!" I felt the room shake with the power of my command. She did as a said. And then silence. The maids scurried out and Julian then ordered the guards out. Damien went out too. It was just my immediate family, the herb doctor and Catherine present now. Father kept staring at me like I had a terrible disease he was finding an easy way to cure.

"are you alright Son?" Mother whispered as she moved to sit beside me. I sat up straight on the bed too. Why couldn't they just tell me where she was? I kept looking at the door, hoping she would walk through any minute to stop this drama.

"Mother I feel well. Where is she?" I repeated.

"who?"

"my bloodmate of course! Who else?"

"but here she is. Right here" she said gesturing to Catherine. "She has been here ever since she gave you her blood"

Now I knew they were all mad. The connection in the blood is too strong to be mistaken. And I wouldn't be settled until I see her again.

"Mother, Catherine here is not my soulmate!" she needs to understand. "it Ariel! It has always been Ariel. And I don't want to have anything to do with this... this..." I broke off my sentence. I had nothing to describe her with. She almost destroyed me. How could she even be here?! "stay away from me" I said to Catherine. She looked like she would cry any minute. I can't deal with this! She shouldn't have come... she left and has no place here anymore and right now, she is to be the least of my worries... where is SHE?

"Son, you need to calm down! Catherine is your bloodmate! Speak to her with respect!" father bellowed. I was shocked at first.

I looked at around but they all stared back at me with the same look. Confusion. Suddenly, the door flung open and Lilian ran to the bed and hugged me. I felt better to see her and everyone else but why did they think it was Catherine's blood in me?

Queen Rowena's pov

Confusion smelt think in the room. It was very amazing how well the blood transfer worked. I've never seen anything so beautiful... But then Clay's call for Ariel instead of Catherine is a thing of worry. It never happens. Except if there was foul play involved or if he was destined to have two life-mates.

I know what it felt like to be totally connected to one's lifemate. I have one. Ralph. Though not every vampire is lucky enough to meet his true mate in his lifetime. Ralph was 50 when I was born, but he knew instantly when I was born that his soulmate was born. I was cared for till I was old enough to understand and we have been together ever since for over 20years.

If not for Ralph who warned me never to use my powers recklessly because of the harmful effects, I would have found out the truth from one or all the people in the room... With just a touch of my hand...

"you are awake! I missed you so much Clay! But not to worry... I have a new friend. Ariel. You saved her life, remember?" Lilian began to rant to her elder brother. They have always been so close.

"where is she then?" Clay asked in a rush.

"you mean Ariel? I think she wandered off to the garden. As I was saying, you missed a lot of..."

"Lilian, I missed you too" Clay interrupted. "but I have some important business to take care off" With that, he jumped out of the bed, grabbed a robe and vanished from the room with a flash. I knew he has gone in search of Ariel. I turned to look at Catherine who looked suddenly seemed overly tensed and silent. I almost reached out to console her, but the red anger in eyes directed at no one in particular, held me back.

This was trouble...

I'm so sorry for posting so late.

It's because of school, school, and more school!

It's becoming frustrating.

Not just the boring classes, but the endless presentations and tests.

Exams would be starting soon. So, if you don't hear from me, I'm either too busy or dead!

(Kidding)

But I'll try to post more very soon.

Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
