A/N
This is my Jesse, fitting in my Teen Wolf love into my story very conveniently. He'd probably have slightly more sandy blonde hair.

I can't believe how great this job is. Who would've thought how a slight shift in my environment could make me feel so much better? Well, it's not a slight shift but definitely a lively one. Sarah is probably the nicest person I've met, only second to Lunes of course. She's been nothing but hospitable and her generosity makes me want to work hard without faltering. Drunk people are so much better than sober ones, without the inhibitions and stressors looming over them. I've already been told by 3 people, two men and a woman that I'm cute and have been asked "what's the cute new waiter's backstory?" Everyone seems to love my rebellion against a strict father story. It's almost unbelievable how liberated I feel, I can't believe I never thought of doing this before. Rebellion is exhilarating.
I come down my high while Kabir and I are walking home and he says, "You and Hayley still need to talk."
"I swear it feels like that's ancient history. An avalanche of changes have befallen me." I exclaim dramatically.
Kabir laughs and tells me, "I'm sorry dude. But you gotta have the talk. It's already been like two days since the morning after and the longer you let it hang in the air, the awkwardness will only increase."
"Yeah yeah, you're right. I'll do it tonight."
Once we're home, Lainey tells us that both Luna and Hayley have gone for dinner with an old friend. I decide to stay up and wait for them because Kabir's right, we don't want things to get awkward in the house.
He goes off to sleep and Lainey joins me in the living room on one of the bean bags, "How was your first day, Jess?"
"Actually fucking brilliant," I tell her with the biggest grin on my face.
"How was the staff? The people?" She inquires.
I don't mind spilling my guts to her, I know she's genuinely interested in what my day was like, "It was so good, Lainey. It's a whole new world, the place was buzzing with energy." I had been oozing with same energy that I found there and she could feel it too. She gave me her usual smile and reached out for my hand and squeezed it.
"I'm so happy for you, Jess," the way she says it, I know nobody else could mean it more than she does. A fuzzy warmth fills me up to the brim. I get up and plant my butt on her small bean bag and squeeze in next to her. I take her in a side hug, which felt more like a cuddle. As I leant into her and wrapped my arms around her, she started to fall off the bean bag. We both laughed as we crashed onto the floor, me on top of her.
We had already burst out laughing and I tickled her. She got breathless and suddenly pushed me off.
"What happened, Lainey? Are you okay?" I panicked.
