Tyler's POV:
I've never seen Melanie this quiet. We're at Taco Bell. She's not eating anything and she's just silent.
"Melanie, are you okay?" She just looked up at me.
"Yeah. I'm all good." She said in a tiny voice. I looked at her, then my taco. I got up from my seat to the trash can. I threw away my taco, went back to Melanie, grabbed my stuff and hers. I held onto her hand, and I dragged her to the car.
"Tyler, what the hell are you doing?" She just looked at me like I was crazy.
"I'm taking you somewhere special." I smiled at her.
"Is it okay if I drive the car?" She nodded and sat down in the passenger seat. I exhaled, and sat in the drivers.
"Trust me. This will take your mind off of things."
Melanie's POV:
I had no idea where Tyler was taking me. It felt like he drove half way across the town. Finally he stopped in front of a forest.
"Tyler why are we here?"
"Just follow me." He kept walking. I followed him, and we walked until there was this well built tree house.
"Oh my god. You're going to murder me. I can see the headlines. 'Girl murdered in tree house, killer yet to be found.' Joseph, I swear to god. This happened in Lovely Bones, and I'm not going to make the same mistake she did." He just laughed.
"Just crawl up the stinking ladder and stop being silly." I went up the ladder. The treehouse was very well organized, and I was very impressed. There were different colors of rugs. Blue, yellow, red, and purple.
"Okay Mel, so here's the deal. Sit on one of the rugs. Just whatever one draws the most attention to you." I cocked my head.
"Why?"
"Just do it. I'll explain to you afterwards." I looked between the rugs. The yellow one didn't really seem to be my color right now. Red, wasn't really working for me either. It just made me uncomfortable, I don't know why. In the end I chose the purple.
"Okay, good. Why did you choose purple?" He asked me as he sat on the blue rug.
"It seemed the most comfortable for me at the moment. I can't explain why. It just made me feel safer." I looked down at the rug and ran my fingers through it. I felt so relaxed.
"The rugs show an emotion. Usually someone is most drawn to the color that is assigned tot he emotion they are feeling. Right now I'm on blue, which is sad. Yellow is happy. Red is anger. Purple is confusion."
"Oh." He suddenly got off of the rug and went to the corner of the room. I didn't notice before that there was a guitar and ukulele. He gave me the guitar, and he chose the ukulele.
"Now, choose a song that really explains how you feel about yourself, or something that calms you down." I thought about all the songs I've written so far. I chose one that I really was feeling right now.
"I think I have a song. I'm not that good so I'm sorry for your ears." I started to play Dead To Me.

"My condolences.
I'll shed a tear with your family
I'll open a bottle up
Pour a little bit out in your memory
I'll be at the wake dressed in all black
I'll call out your name but you won't call back
I'll hand a flower to your mother when I say goodbye
'Cause baby you're dead to me
I need to kill you
That's the only way to get you out of my head
Oh, I need to kill you.
To silence all the sweet little things you said
I really want to kill you
Wipe you off the face of my earth
And bury your bracelet
Bury your bracelet
Six feet under the dirt." I stopped playing and looked up at Tyler.
"I mean it's just in progress I know it's probably
