COLTONS POV
I woke startled, my heart hammering in my chest, trying to jump out of my rib cage, lying in a pool of my own sweat. Adrenaline still coursed through my veins hot and electric, my muscles tense, waiting for something to happen, to react at a moments notice.
I'd had the nightmare again. The same one I'd been having since the night India was taken away from me.
I couldn't lose her. She was strong. I knew she would fight until she couldn't fight anymore.
My wolf was going crazy inside of me, constantly pacing and waiting for me to slip up so he could take control. He wanted his mate safe by his side, and he wanted it yesterday.
I felt the pressure in my head, someone trying to link with me. I would have shut them out, if it weren't for the fact that it was Ty.
What is it? I shot to him when I knew our links were live.
The formula is just about finished. There's only one problem. He linked back instantly.
What is it Alpha Shelton? I growled back, my wolf moments from sprouting.
We need a wolf to test it on, and I don't know about you, but I don't exactly have any wolves willing to sacrifice themselves for an experiment that might not work. He shot back. He was tense as well. The last few weeks had been hell on both packs. We all wanted India and Mikayla back as soon as possible, fearing the worst if we waited any longer.
I'll be there shortly. I linked back to Ty as I closed our line, blocking him out as I gathered my thoughts.
I hadn't thought this plan through entirely. Of course we would have to test the serum. Normally in these situations there would be a murderous rogue to dispose of, but right now, there was no one. If I was to get India back, a wolf might have to be sacrificed, something she would outright kill me over if she woke to find out I had sacrificed someone just to get her back.
"Alpha, this just came, I figured you'd want it immediately." A voice piped up from the hallway outside of the office I'd been sleeping in. Being in our bed without India didn't feel right anymore. It hurt too much to lie there without her.
"Come in." I replied as the door swung open to reveal a young she wolf, holding a blood red envelope.
I gestured to the desk in the room and she set the letter down and bowed respectfully before exiting the room.
The vampires letter was here. I didn't need to open it to know what it would say.
I sighed as I pulled myself up from the couch, going behind the desk and taking a seat as I took it into my hands, ripping it open. The scent hit me strong. India's blood was on this letter.
Crimson coated my vision, my wolf snarling inside of me as my canines ripped through my gums.
"NO!" I growled to the wolf inside. This is what the bastards wanted. If I shifted now, I would head there. I would be dead within moments and they would kill her. They would take the pack lands and destroy this pack, burning it all and making sure no member survived.
I pulled the letter open then, reading it as fast as I could.
Dearest Alpha Lithe,
It's a shame I had to resort to this to get your attention. All we had ever wanted was a little land to build our dream coven on. Seeing as your pack of mutts was the biggest in these parts, we didn't think it too much to ask for you to part with a few measly little acres. But, it seems your precious land is more important to you than your mate. You took my beloved from me, you killed him all those months ago. Now it's your turn to feel what it's like to lose your other half. You have two days to respond with an offer or both the sorry bitches will be ancient history.
With love, Amethyst.
I dropped the letter onto the desk. My head spinning out of control. Alexandr was dead. I saw India kill him. Amethyst was his beloved, the equivalent of a mate in the vampire world. She was out for blood, not just land anymore. The moment I handed over anything to her, both India and Mikayla would be dead.
Ty, meet me at the border, bring the serum. We have to act fast and we have to act now. There's no time. I shot as I darted from the house, shifting mid run and darting through the forest towards Shelton pack grounds.

Werewolf"I'm sorry." He breathed between us, "Thank you for getting some sense into me. I don't know what I'd do without you India. You keep my head on right." "That's what friends are for." I smiled smally and he closed the distance between us, cupping...
