Chapter 16

Charles pov

I have been avoiding Katherine for a week now. I let myself get weak and vulnerable around her so we shouldn't be around each other.

I had been doing good at avoiding her when suddenly a wet Katherine walked in the door angrily and wet. Who made my beautiful babygirl this mad?

I then remembered that I'm supposed to be avoiding her. Shit!

"Hey Katherine, did Charles tell you about the ball."

She shook her head making her wet hair stick to her face.

"No, i heard about it from a person." She said.

What person? I wanted to ask but I didn't, however i did want to know why she was wet i mean it's not like it's raining outside.

"Why are you wet?" I asked letting my curiosity get the best of me.

"I-" She sighed "it's nothing." She said before walking off.

Is she mad at me?

I would be mad at me too but I don't want her mad at me.

I need to get on her good side but it has to be a friendly gesture.

I hadn't noticed the time until my aunt Brida knocked on the door telling me that Katherine was ready.

I stepped out of my room and saw Katherine she took my breath away. She looked so damn perfect at that moment i wanted to take her. Right here and right now.

She smiled at me warily. I walked over to her.

"Let's go." I said.

As much as i wanted to tell her how beautiful and perfect she looked I couldn't.

We walked in and everyone bowed we took a seat at our thrones as we were greeted by families and lords.

Katherine looked over at me.

"I'm gonna go socialize." She said I nodded.

She got up from her chair and walked around greeting people.

I smiled. She's so innocent.

Lord Knight approached me and i got out of my chair and met him.

"Have you seen him?" He asked.

"Seen who?"

"Lord James. He came in today." I quickly stopped smiling.

"What! Why wasn't I informed."

"I'm sorry your majesty. I thought that you were." He said.

"Well I wasn't."

"Oh goodness. There he is. He's talking to Katherine Your majesty." I turned and saw that he was.

I had gotten so angry. I hate James with a passion and will be more than happy for him to drop dead.

I then seen Katherine laugh at something he said.

What could he have said to her to make her laugh, she never laughs with me.

I was getting ready to walk over to where they were when i was stopped.

"Diane." I said.

"Charles, it's been a while."

"Yeah, I've been busy."

She smiled and put her hand on my shoulder seductively.

"I want to see you tonight." And she walked away.

I looked around for them and saw them dancing.

I can't believe this savage dancing with my wife.
