"Archie, are those rings pure silver?" I mean they shine so brightly in the sunlight.
"Yeah, they are."
"So who's the girl?" I asked in an innocent tone.
"It's uh... uhm... err... hmm... who was it again?" He rubbed the back of his head and gave me a lying smile.
I put him out of his misery. "We should hurry back if we want to get away from this hot sun." I took the first few steps and followed the other group members.
Archie pulled my arm and walked to stand next to me. "I'm sorry. I wish I could be honest with you."
"No, it's okay. I shouldn't have asked about your private matters." I pulled him along with me to catch up with the group.
When I looked at him, he looked genuinely sorry. Was it a trick? Like his sad look before? I hoped it wasn't because he was nice.
